I am just so irritated right now... this place just blows my mind. So, I dropped off my laptop on the 25th, told Joseph that the CPU was running at almost 100% and it was slow. Let me put it simply; he's a sales man. He only half listens to your problem - trying to sell you a whole bunch of stuff that, in the end, will never solve your problem. First, he told me that it could not be the CPU at all having issues, that it be the disc drive, or the RAM, GPU - basically anything other than the actual problem. The CPU. When I was told from a family member that it could be an overrunning app or virous, not any of this stuff. And that family member used to work on computers. Then Joseph jumped to my charging cord and said that it could actually be that too because its a replacement. He never opened the lid on the computer or turned it on to take a FREE look at it to actually give me the CORRECT issue it could be. He just continued to build a mental noted bill of unnecessary issues/items it will need. Then while telling me they are NOT responsible if anything breaks and asked if it need to be backed up. I said no, then he said, so, if I dropped it on the floor right now. Completely destroying it, you'd be ok with that? Ummmmm... NO. What the heck kind of question is that? Whether I have to back things up or not, it don't fill your customers with comfort. I lost all trust in them then. Afterwards, he stamped a label on it and told me it would be 3 to 4 days before it could be looked at. Well, hearing nothing from them allllllllll week, I called them on Saturday where a different guy told me the tech who works on the computers comes in over the weekend and I should have an answer on Monday. I never got a call. When I called them again on Monday, they said it no one has worked on it yet. What..? I called then on Tuesday and they said they would patch me through to Joseph who said they were updating it but it was still going back up to the high CPU. In general, I don't understand how they could update an already updated system. He said he would keep me up to date. He didn't. Day later, called him again and Joseph said he couldn't figure out the problem and was wondering if he could uninstall windows 10 and reinstall it. That's ALL he said we was going to "uninstall." When we asked if there would be an additional charge, he said no he will only charge me the $85 he quoted because he's only given it 30% of his time. Seriously? A week and a half later and you've only given it 30% of your time? Maybe I should've given him only 30% of the $85. The next day he said we could come pick it up, it was all done. When we got down there to pick it up, he said it was still installing updates and it would be done soon.... Why'd he say it was done then? We waited there until it was finished and he said he uninstalled windows 10 and reinstalled, he took out Lenovo's protections (I didn't approve of this), and said it would only be able to be used for average searches. Google, youtube, etc.. Then he said no gaming on it but then he said it could play games such as solitaire. ???? Now, that I've gotten a chance to use it since leaving it with them, I can honestly say, I was better off just keeping it and figuring it out myself. He's completely screwed it up. I have NO free protection on it anymore from McAfee or any from Lenovo. He installed a virous watch thing that I've never heard of. The CPU is still high. It doesn't recognize my printer anymore. All the little extra's that came with windows 10/Lenovo, aren't there anymore.
This is so irritating! This was a graduation gift and I feel like he...
Read moreThis company definitely lacks in customer service. My parents bought a custome built computer with an extended warranty 4 months ago and ran into some issues last week with it shutting down and restarting continuously. My mom took time off from work to take it in and hopefully get it repaired before Christmas. She explained everything she tried and what was going on and the man (using that term loosely) told her it sounded like a software issue and wrote on the work form "won't boot up, call customer" What a shame my mom wasted so much explanation, to just have to explain it all again when they call.
Then my mom was told to sign 2 forms that were hard to read on the pinpad and the "kid" (a much better term) just told her to "hit agree." She asked what she just agreed to now twice and his comment back was "You just gave us your first born, although you are pretty old to just be having kids. So maybe you have a son that is looking for a job here?" My mom stared at the "kid" and wondered if that really just happened. She let the "kid" know that her son is a mechanical engineer with better manners. He didn't have anything to say back. (To clarify, my mom is in her early 50s and works with computers everyday as she runs the computers in the middle school at the school she teaches at. So we aren't talking about someone that just came in and said "it doesn't work - fix it")
So an entire week went by with no call about the computer and my mom finally pushed them yesterday to get something going on it. They said it was a software issue that isn't covered under the warranty and they would get it done but my mom would have to reload all her software herself then. She spoke to managers and supervisors and explained again that she came to them to purchase a computer because of the customization etc. She said that she didn't want to get back less of a computer than she started with and told them they can spend the time reinstalling all the programs that were removed seeing as she is already paying them to fix it.
So they now will have the computer through Monday and she prays that the computer is going to function normally again. After talking to numerous managers about the "kid's" attitude with her, she was informed that they were all reprimanded for their customer service and in a mumbled sentence "it shouldn't ever happen again."
Definitely not getting what my mom paid for for her computer and because of their lack of customer service skills when someone is spending over a grand at the store, I would not recommend...
Read moreI called them about 2 issues with my intent to bring the computer in to have it looked at. One was with the computer saying there was no internet access. But certain things could connect to the internet like Google chrome and games but not other web browsers and Microsoft apps. All the guy said was since they don't provide my internet that they cannot help me without even looking at my computer or listening to what my problem was. Second was that since I have upgraded a few components of my computer. Every time I restart the computer boots into BIOS. AGAIN he said since they didn't sell me that parts they couldn't help me. I made it clear I wanted to bring the computer in when I first called. And I said again what if I bring it in. And the response I got seems like they just really did not care. Not someone I want to leave my computer with for 5-7 day for 40$ not knowing if they are going to even seriously look at my problems. I know others have had good experiences here but I have not. It seems like they are only loyal to customers who regularly buy products from their store. Not a place I want to take my PC to be repaired or serviced. And I'm probably not going to shop at this store anymore, since I do occasionally stop in to grab a few things. I'll just buy my stuff online...
