Milleville Almond Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bar: This bar is comprised of savory roasted almonds, peanuts, honey, and whole grain granola. There are no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors for those who care. The bars are held together by being dipped in a creamy almond butter flavored coating. It has a soft and chewy texture but maintains its shape and does not fall apart easily. I found it to be somewhat sticky to the touch, and it can be a little tricky to remove from the wrapper. I typically enjoy these types of bars while hiking the trails, but they also work well for lunches or school/work snacks. I really enjoyed the contrasting flavors as the bar does a nice job of balancing sweet and salty. Be aware that they come in at approximately 160 calories with only 3g of protein, so if you’re a sedentary desk jokey or rocking a double chin then something else might be more appropriate for you. Milleville is a budget brand found at Aldi grocery stores. This bar reminded me a lot of a similar product I enjoy from Nature Valley, but Millville's is slightly less expensive if you're looking to save a little cash. Doughboy approved...
Read moreAldi is absolutely perfect for people on a budget or people that simply want to shop smarter. 90% of the store inventory are brands that you wouldn't normally recognize because they're specific to Aldi. Which if you know anything about the Aldi philosophy, that's a good thing!
Aldi forces it's suppliers to adhere to certain standards or they cannot sell in Aldi. These standards are health concious.
Most of what you need you'll find at Aldi for less than big stores because that's the Aldi way. The appearance of the stores aren't really anything special and that's simply to keep costs low. Everything they do has cost in mind and the savings is passed on to the consumer. I absolutely love Aldi! I can get a good 80-90% of my food shopping done and on average pay about $40 less than I would at say a Pick N Save/Kroger... Kroger may have better presentation but that comes at a cost... And YOU...
Read moreall these prices are great. They don't have a huge selection but if you're shopping there you're probably not shopping for selection you are there because it saves you money. their produce doesn't have a large selection either but I have found that their produce is quite good and the quality is definitely comprable to pick and save our other grocery stores. The one thing I do not like about Aldi is checking out. It always seems that they only have one person on cashier even though they usually have four or five possible Lanes to use. if you go there for a gallon of milk you may end up standing in line for 20 to 30 minutes because there are seven people in front of you and only one cashier. customers there will often let you skip ahead of them because they see that you only have a gallon of milk or two items say. This place would get five stars if they would put more...
