This place is an absolute joke. I assume the blonde portly salestaff with glasses is the owner and by far the shining buffoon. An insulting and arrogant joke who makes a point of stating her years and success in business - which is the first of many red flags. My aunt is an interior designer of more than 45 years in Houston and I have much experience with professional upholstery and design centers. First, if you're good, you don't have to stroke yourself. Second, treating a customer the way this woman did is all anyone would need to know and keep them from walking through their door. I am relatively new to Greenville and only chose this place because it was close to my house and out of convenience. Grave mistake. She called me a jerk, dismissed me and ordered me to "sit down" like I was a child, and when I told her I didn't need to sit down, she barked at her staff to "give him his damn money back" and "never come back again". I had to laugh at her last directive as if I needed her to tell me that. I have already called a design center in Raleigh and they couldn't believe what happened and said to come in and they'd take care of a rather simple order. The order was placed over a month ago and paid in full. In fact, I was standing in front of her when she called the manufacturer and they told me to leave the cushions with them so the cushions "would be ready when I got back in town". I was reluctant and decided not to leave them knowing this exact scenario would likely happen. Today, she changed her story and told me it would be 10-12 weeks which was a lie from what she told me when I placed the order. If she had told me that a month ago, I would not have ordered and gone somewhere else. I gotta hand it to them though, in the 26 years of business they do have skills, they can run a credit card faster than she runs her idiotic mouth - a gold medal olympian. All she knows is a bunch of cliche southern insults and my IQ dropped precipitously just engaging her. Beware. Choose a place that is at least polite to their customers and show some degree of appreciation for the business...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem! They have every custom fabric and wallpaper you could dream of! From classic and traditional to the most fun and on trend fabrics, they have so many beautiful options! And they are the sweetest people to work with. They are so knowledgeable and experienced with using different fabric and wallpaper designs to create a fabulous space and they make you feel like family in the process. We recently used them to reupholster my husband’s grandmother’s antique rocking chair to use in our nursery (see before and after photos). We picked out the fabric in their store and their upholsterer is a professional who knew exactly how to preserve the original antique horse hair inside the chair. His work is impeccable and he turned our chair into what Liz would call “a movie star!” And he had it done in one week with excellent communication throughout the process to ensure it turned out exactly how we wanted it. We are also ordering our wallpaper for our bathroom remodel from Fabric and Home Furnishings and will continue to use them for our home projects...
Read moreI spent more than 1 hr in the store with a staff member who calculated the cost of material, labor, in-home measurement, and installation for a Roman shade. I paid 50% of the total cost and received a receipt for the amount paid and the included services. Since then, the business owner called stating the staff member did not correctly calculate the cost and a new 20% higher cost would be the finished price. I reminded the owner that the staff member represented the business and its services. The owner then stated I was not allowed to be "behind the counter" when the calculations were made and "the staff member was new" and "Saturday is always crazy". I asked the owner to honor the original receipt. She declined. I have cancelled the order and want everyone to know that the "bait and switch" behavior is my experience at this business. I will not return and will share my experience with customers and friends so they can avoid dealing with...
