I'm only giving 1 star because zero stars isn't an option. I ordered a birthday cake on Feb 2nd for my sister in law. It was to be picked up today, Feb 11th at 5. We HAD 630 reservations with the rest of the family for dinner. My order was for a simple vanilla cake. Purple icing with gold sprinkles. I prepaid on the day I placed the order. I explained to the lady who took my order that I was coming into town from 2 hours away that day and because it was my first birthday with my sister in law, I wanted it to be perfect for her so I opted to pay the 80 bucks for a beautiful cake made at a legitimate bakery. Today, I arrived to pick up my cake and it was nowhere to be found. Are you KIDDING? It's an hour and a half from dinner reservations for the entire family and I have no cake? The girls working behind the counter acted like it was their first day. Nobody at the actual store could do anything but stand there and look puzzled. I even had to show them where I paid for it on my online banking app. So....I then had to sit and wait for the cake decorator to come in and remake my cake. Which means it is NOT fresh. The layers were taken out of the FREEZER. I could have gotten a MUCH fresher cake at food lion for a fraction of the cost and had it made on time. Of course, I was so upset I began to cry. Not once did anyone say "I'm sorry" until the actual cake decorator got there. She then explained to me that my order ticket had been thrown away. She remembered writing it down when she took my order. Writing it down? It's 2023, we have spy balloons from China in the sky, you're charging 80 bucks for a cake and you're WRITING THE ORDER ON PAPER? Time for an updated ordering system! one that will actually keep up with your orders so you have return customers! If all this wasn't sad enough, the cake decorator PROUDLY said "we made your 8in cake a 10in because of your inconvenience ". Well thanks Sylvia. Hope those 2 extra inches are enough to fill us all the way up.....cause we missed our reservations for dinner waiting on a frozen cake that was decorated in 13 minutes. Thanks for RUINING my sister in laws birthday! If you're planning on ordering from here and need your cake on...
Read moreTykita, I was sitting in Confection Connection eating my delicious soup when you came in and witnessed your entire interaction with the young ladies at the front and the owner. You were INCREDIBLY rude to them. Taking personal affront that your cake that you believed you were entitled to wasn’t available to you at 2:45 pm. They will let you pre-pay if you want to hold a slice. CC is very popular and their sweet treats sell out quickly. Would you have been so entitled and rude if they had sold out before you got there approximately 2:45 pm? You were the person who was rude, loud and hostile to all of them to the point I almost interrupted my lunch and came around to your right and said something to calm you down.
And as far as “our kind seems not to be acknowledged?!” They asked kindly as they always do how could they help you. The cake wasn’t ready, but would have been with in a few more hours. If you hadn’t been so rude and loud, you might have noticed that they had cupcakes on your flavor that you could have bought. Your “kind” hasn’t been treated any different than anyone else. YOU were the problem. I witnessed the entire situation and CC did nothing wrong. Go drive to Fayetteville. You reveal just how entitled you believe you are in that comment alone. We don’t need people coming into any business with an agenda, sense of entitlement and being rude and hostile. Too bad for you I witnessed it from the beginning to when you stomped out the door to leave. And btw, I went right back to my lunch.
Those looking for a problem always seem to find one when they are the one causing it. Confection Connection is great. Has great soup and sandwiches. You want good chicken pastry? Come on Thursday.
I’m a multi-year customer and got nothing for writing this except that I knew you were going to leave a review like this so was...
Read moreI called Thursday to order a yellow cake with chocolate icing for my sister. The cake was not yellow. The bakery charged $75 for a QUARTER sheet cake. And they required immediate payment, so I gave it. About an hour later, I decided against it bc the cake was so simple and not worth that price at all. The person told me that they have a "No Refund" Policy. Because of course they do. She said the only person that could offer me a refund would be an owner called Tim. I asked when the person would be in, and her reply was just as laughable. "He's in and out." So. They can't refund a purchase an hour after it's made, and they are indifferent about even trying to help solve a customer complaint. So. I asked for it to be completed by 11. My sister arrived 15 minutes after the fact, and it was still not ready.
So, I paid an egregious amount for a cake that was not what I wanted, and that was also late being finished. Case and point: if I spend $107 on a QUARTER SHEET CAKE, then the customer service and quality should compliment the pricing, and it DOES NOT. As a result, I will not be going back, and I'll be sure to leave reviews on other sites so that people know what they're getting into before they order.
The cake was....okay? It was dry. The icing was fine.
I'm really trying to understand how this place was rated so well, when I can go to Publix and get a quarter sheet cake for $40, get better customer service, and a better...
