Not only did I leave marks Lloyd's furs feeling stereotyped. I felt prejudiced and very belittled.
Word of advice. When someone walks into your store looking to spend $50,000.00 plus on a fur, you should treat them with maybe a slight amount of respect. Did my copious amounts of plastic surgery, diamond and sapphire rings, new Christian Louboutin shoes, Chanel bag and fox fur coat not hint to you that I was interested in spending money?!?!?!?! Or does that scream penniless shoplifter????
I walked into the shop and was having a little look around. The first woman who approached me asked in a harsh tone if there was "Anything" she could help me with, as if I wasn't equipped to be shopping there. I said not right now I'm simply looking around at the moment. She preceded to start slowly circling me as if I was going to do something, at this point I was already offended. But i love fur so I continued to look around. I became extremely nervous when I heard her speaking harshly about me to one of her coworkers behind my back, commenting on how she had to keep an eye on me and couldn't return to work until I left. ((Mind you I had been in the shop for only about ten minutes total at this time.... I wasn't loitering.... I hadn't even had a chance to look around.)) At this point almost in tears I grabbed my phone from my purse as any person does nowadays and proceeded to start texting someone. All the while still interested in the pieces on display despite feeling completely ostracized. This is when it got really bad. A second woman (the one the first one had just been talking to) came directly in between me and a display and said in a rather disgusting hurtful tone that EVERYTHING IN THE GALLERY IS VIEWABLE ONLINE AND PHOTOGRAPHY OF MERCHANDISE WAS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. (Mind you five minutes previously two clients say discussing two pieces and took pictures of them to their sister) At this point I was BEYOND done. Over it. Tears welling in my eyes, face beet red..... I said thank you but I'm NOT TAKING PICTURES, AND IF I WANT TO I WILL.
I left in a hurry as tears began streaming down my face, harshly commenting on the downright abusive service I had received.
Never have I ever been treated callously by a high end establishment, and never have I ever been profiled the second I walked in the door. I highly recommend people steer clear of Marks lloyds. They have an outstandingly beautiful collection (from what little I was able to see). But the customer service was unbelievably abusive and...
Read moreI have never owned a fur coat before and called with many questions after visiting their website and looking at their inventory. (The website has a classy look, which initially drew me to the company.)
I wanted a versatile coat, which I could wear on many occasions: dressy, casual chic, evening, etc. I wanted a coat that would look good on my frame as well. This company is a family business and Sarah, the woman, who answered the phone, turned out to be one of the family members. She was incredibly patient and professional. When I asked her to comment on a competitive website, Sarah said she was not familiar with the website, but even so, prefers not to comment on any competitors. I found that remarkably genuine and honorable, especially when I could have taken my business anywhere else at that point--even the other website. The one comment she made, is that M.L. Furs is a furrier; that is, they can make alterations and custom fit coats/garments, if needed. I never thought about that, but realized that since I was going to put a significant amount of money into a fur coat--and likely online, I needed to make sure it fit or at least could be altered by those I'm talking with on the other end of the phone.
Sarah and I looked at and discussed a number of coats online--again, I greatly appreciate her patience. Then she suggested one that I had not yet seen. I loved the coat, but it had a hood. I have long hair and generaly speaking, hoods don't work well for me. I asked if they could modify the coat and put a collar instead. Actually, I think Sarah suggested this as an option. ML Furs can--and did! I now have a GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS Blackglama mink coat with a chinchilla wing collar. I spent a more than I had originally budgeted (my decision, completely--NO PRESSURE from the store), but cannot be more excited with my new coat and only have the highest of praise for the company.
Thank you, Sarah and M.L Furs, for your professionalism, personal attention, and care. Even though I live on the east coast and likely have plenty of reputable furriers closer than Colorado, I will only send my beautiful new coat to ML Furs for warm...
