I was a member for almost 2 years. Today, I had an appointment that was cancelled without my knowledge. It’s important to know - when you go, the front door is always locked and someone from the team has to open it for you. Not usually a problem… unless you’re standing in 30 degree weather for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to open the door because you don’t know they closed due to weather. Fast forward to a phone call I finally received from an owner, Melissa. Melissa thought it would be best to explain their processes to me and make excuses for my experience. (Not once apologizing nor having any empathy. She went straight defensive mode.) When I dared to take a moment to explain that I did not receive a call (as she stated happened) and offered call logs, she began to talk over me and finally yelled that she was “scared for her life” because I thought it was important to express how I felt. I literally simply asked her to take a moment and understand what the experience was like from my perspective/in my shoes rather than excusing the entire experience. She then quickly flipped the conversation to say, “I wish you the best but I’m just scared of you. I’ll refund you everything.” I was speechless at her tone escalation and claiming her victimization as she was “scared for her life”. I swear I’m still in shock, but…. WONDERFUL! That’s what I wanted after this experience. HOWEVER, Melissa continued to text my personal cell phone for over 2 hours after this phone call and made comments stating I had anger management issues and went so far as to text me a link to an anger management group and tell me that I will end up in prison. Even if I had been “scary” towards her in any way or even engaged the text harassment she initiated (neither of which occurred) the harassing text messages that followed are completely out of line and unprofessional. I say all this to say, if you’re thinking about a membership here, take a hard pass… unless you want to deal with an erratic, emotional business owner. I have copies of all text messages...
   Read moreThis afternoon , My wife and I scheduled a 60 minute couples massage at Spavia of Guilford. We entered the Guilford commons which is a great small plaza set off the main road in a quiet area. As we entered the Spa we were greeted by Tori at the front desk . She gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed the minute we walked through the door. The spa was immaculate , very clean and well put together. Tori then confirmed the details of our booking to assure nothing was missed or looked over. Tori is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions before we can even ask. We felt even more comfortable for it being our first time. We were led into the spa and brought into the changing rooms where we would get ready for our massages. Tori walked us through every fine detail on how the rest of our experience would play out. From small things such as how to secure your personable belongings to where to find refreshments and a warm neck pillow as our room was being prepared. The changing rooms were spotless and very well organized. Everything you could imagine was at your fingertips. We then waited a few short moments and our massage therapists Sherry & Kim welcomed us to come to our room. The room was one of the most relaxing settings I’ve seen thus far. The massages were absolutely incredible. The therapists both reviewed any concerns we had before we began. No details were missed during the massage. Sherry & Kim put us in full relaxation for the entire hour we spent in the room. Following the massage we were brought back to the waiting room where there was absolutely no rush to get out of the comfortable robes and get dressed.    Read moreIt’s been a year since my membership began and I could not be happier. I was at Spavia recently for a massage and facial. One of the things I enjoy most is the therapists are able to do what they do best! There is no ho-hum typical massage or facial here! There’s nothing worse than going to a spa and getting the same service done exactly the same way every visit. I love having each service tailored to exactly what I need in that moment. 5 stars for all who work there for keeping it relaxing, enjoyable and interesting.
Spavia has the look and feel of a very high priced spa without the very high prices! When you arrive for your first visit you are asked everything from your music preference to your scent preference and on and on. You are then led to a lovely locker room where you were provided with a plush robe and slippers. From there you enter a lovely relaxation room with an assortment of hot or cold beverages at your disposal. When your therapist comes to retrieve you, you are lead into a lovely treatment room, in my case massage room, where the magic happens! If you can get a massage appointment with Zoe, do it! She is amazing. Never have I had a massage by such a skilled professional! And when I say skilled I mean it! When Zoe was finished with my 100 minute massage, I was like butter!
