Ivan Smith Furniture — Local services in Gun Barrel City

Was looking for a powered recliner or two for my wife and I. Went to store by myself as my wife was out of town. Picked a recliner that I liked and after trying it I took a picture of it to show my wife. The next week my wife was back and had a day off so I called the saleslady that waited on me and asked her if we come and pick out a recliner could we get it quickly and she said yes. We made the drive to the store and I showed my wife the chair that I tried and had a picture of. The saleslady then told us that wasn't the chair that I tried out because it didn't have a motor. It was definitely the chair as I had taken a picture right after I tried it out. I don't know what happened to the motor, if it was taken out or, if it was still in. We looked around and found a recliner and a recliner sofa and again before we agreed on it, we asked the saleslady if we could get it and she said, yes, in two days". Asked her about delivery, she said $79 we said fine. She went to put the figures together and came back saying the delivery was normally around $149 but they would do it for $119. Ok, but still $40 more than she originally told us. We decided to get the pieces since the holidays were approaching and we had company coming. This was done on a Tuesday and the furniture was scheduled to come the following Thursday. I got a call from the store on Wednesday saying they could not deliver til the following week on Thursday. I was not very happy. The lady that called me said it was either that day or wait still another week! The whole decision to go back to the store trip was based on getting the delivery that we were promised. So here we are, company for the holidays and no furniture to sit in! I just felt that they,at the store, were not up front with us about the chair with no motor , and the delivery. Shouldn't make promises...

I enjoy stopping by the Ivan Smith Furniture store to check out the sales and say hello to my awesome Ivan Smith Agent, Susan! She and the team there always make me feel welcome, and when I have questions, they're on top of it! I could have easily gone to a large metroplex store, but I was so impressed by the selection and personal treatment from my Gun Barrell City location, I purchased there. I even called Susan for a measurement when I went home, and she didn't hesitate to take care of it for me! That's service and that's hometown pride I can appreciate. I cannot recommend Ivan Smith strongly enough! I hope you can gather that from my review.

UPDATE: I recently revisited my favorite furniture store ever, Ivan Smith in Gun Barrel City, to purchase a recliner that I've had my eyes (and rear) on for many months. The time was right because when I arrived, there was another sale! Susan was there with her usual positive countenance, and she spent time with me making sure I was choosing the right options for my purchase. The recliner arrived 7 days later, on time as Susan had indicated, and the guys there at Ivan helped me load the box into my truck. I appreciate good service, and people that put the community first. ...

Friendly staff, excellent customer service and great prices!! We are loving our new Sealy mattress set!! Best sleep EVER!!!

2nd visit: Needed a trundle bed for our daughters. Visited the store and although none were in stock, they were able to help me get one ordered. It took a while for it to be delivered as it was considered a special order. The delivery guys were very nice and they had the bed ready in no time at all. My girls are very happy with their new bed and it gives them so much more space in their bedroom!! I will definitely be a repeat customer!!

3rd visit finally got us an all matching bedroom set. We couldn't be happier except with the size of our bedroom! (We definitely need more square footage!!)

4th visit we had a defective mattress so we were able to use the warranty to get a new one. This time we upgraded to the new style of the Sealy firm mattress (yes it costed a bit more due to new style and inflation) but well worth the money for the ability to sleep all night without constantly waking up. As ever, they have topnotch staff and delivery crew. Will definitely be revisiting again soon for new living...
