Huddle House — Restaurant in Gun Barrel City

IF I COULD GIVE A 0 STAR I ABSOLUTELY WOULD. MY FAMILY AND I COME HERE OFTEN, WE NEVER HAVE ANY ISSUES FROM OUR REGULAR WAITRESS(AMY is absolutely amazing and always on it for us, and when she’s on shift she’s literally DOING ALL THE WORK AND ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYONE, but this night she was unfortunately not there) WE CAME TONIGHT 3/17 at 7:45 with our 2 young children my mother and sister in law. WE WAITED UNTIL 9:20 PATIENTLY (I should have been an absolute Karen) the 2 that were on shift made sure our drinks were full the entire time. WE WATCHED PEOPLE COME AND GO, when we got here at 7:45 there was only 2-3 tables after we showed up multiple tops came in, so we understood there may be a wait. We were enjoying each others company so time went by but we grew concerned but kept patient when I clearly should have spoken up. ONCE 9:20 came around THE WAITRESS CAME UP WITH A SMIRK AND SMILE ON HER FACE SAYING “remember the order I took an hour and a half ago and remember when it didn’t go through well would you like to re-order again” WE WERE ALL VERY CONFUSED. LET ME TELL YOU, CEDAR CREEK LAKES BEST!(all sarcasm intended) At this point we said we’ll just leave and that seems exactly what she wanted. My young children were HUNGRY AND SOOO CONFUSED WHY WE HAVEN’T RECEIVED OUR FOOD. NEEDLESS TO SAY SHE SAID SHE WOULDN’T CHARGE US FOR THE DRINKS OR APPETIZER. HOW THESE GIRLS MANAGED TO COMPLETELY NEGLECT OUR ORDER AND HAVE THE WORST ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN WE WERE NOTHING BUT UNDERSTANDING IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING AND SOMETHING TELLS ME THE GENERAL MANAGER ISN'T MUCH BETTER! Service tonight was terrible!! Brought the family to have dinner and enjoy our meal together, but our time was not enjoyable when we all get our food and drinks except for my oldest son who was paying for his own food and ordered the extra same time as us and didn't get his food until we were more than 1/2 way finished with the food we actually did get . Our orders was missing the biscuits and gravy on 2 of the orders and grits . We never heard from our waiter about drink refills or if we need anything. We usually have a great experience at this place but for some reason tonight we terrible. Maybe next time we will take our business down the road to Denny's and see if we can get better service and everything we order. Not complaining about the food just the lack of service and incompetent of making sure the customer gets everything they order and everyone in the family is eating their food around the same time. RACIST MUCH??!!! My husband and I went there for dinner. We were not acknowledged as we walked in. The restaurant was almost empty with only one family eating. We sat ourselves down and conversated while waiting. About 4 min later another couple comes in and sits behind our table. The waitress immediately greets them and asks what they want to drink. She also grabs them some menus. She even went and grabbed their drinks and I figured she would acknowledge us when she returned but nothing. She left and went behind the counter and later to the kitchen. We sat there wondering why we didnt get asked anything or why no menus were brought to us. We are hispanic and the couple that entered after us were caucasian. We felt very uncomfortable and decided to leave. You could feel the tension in the room. Its sad that people are still ignorant. We will never be back! We went down the street to a restaurant called Cochran's Cafeteria . We were treated with respect and food was delicious. I recommend that place instead. Do not waste...
