Family owned and operated done right. Location was perfect. Ambiance down to overhearing conversations fit perfectly. I was “in” their kitchen, sat at their dinner table, and the checkout counter was their sitting room.
First i traveled in from New Mexico. When plotting my route and stops this place jumped out at me. I ran the miles on the clock to arrive 4 mins before lunch ended. When i walked in they informed me they actually closed 26 minutes prior, the time on Apple Maps is incorrect. The next thing is what makes them who they are. The gentleman informed the kitchen that i had walked in. Inquired if the grill was still hot. With that coming back as a yes i was seated, 30 mins after close. I quickly placed an order for a ribeye and grilled zucchini. My order included a soup and salad bar, which i didn’t expect but had been eyeballing. Simple yet perfect, with the quality making it clear it was purposely selected.
The ribeye was so simple I wondered why i couldn’t produce the same at home. One bite in and i had to take a second look at it. It was charred, flavored, well portioned. It was melting in my mouth as a great steak should. I was honestly taken back that it really had come from the kitchen. The fact i could have been turned away and wasn’t, sunk in. I almost missed this...

The second is they sell and charge you for a "ribeye”, but they deliver a strip steak that costs about half the price of the ribeye for them to buy hoping no one will notice. Here’s a tip for the guy who likes to argue with customers about the cut of meat. When they complain before they pay it might be an attempt to get something for nothing but when they complain after they pay it’s because they are hoping for better next time they come back. Me, I want nothing but to tell you I noticed,. I paid in full and tipped my server. Cutting corners is the nail in the coffin for has been restaurants. See it for what it is and fix it or live it........ Another empty restaurant building in Guymon is nothing new looking around town. Either way it makes no difference...
Read moreSeems like a well established long lasting family business. My experience overall however was mediocre at best considering I spent $30+ for one meal.
Pros: Staff was friendly and service was fast (at first). Restaurant was cozy and quiet in a good way.
Cons: ordered a ribeye steak and ordered it medium but it came well done. Hard to even cook medium considering it was a relatively thin cut steak. This wasn't good considering menu advertised a 12oz steak at $28. Steak was overcooked but tasted good (although chewy). I tried the beef vegetable soup and honestly it was pure salt and I couldn't even eat one bite of it. Most annoying part is the waiter dropped of the ticket when he brought the plate and I never saw him again (restaurant was not busy at all). I took ticket to the register and waited there for probably 5 minutes before anyone showed up.
Overall wasn't really good experience or meal for me at over $30 for one...
