That Guy. Seven years now I’ve been shopping at Bloomingdales at Riverside square, from the Manager of the rug department to the Asscoiates, anytime I had seriously been unhappy in a certain situation they have found a way to course correct and make my experience great again. Thus, they became my first stop when it came to anything I needed for the house. Seven years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Nick over a phone call, I had been wondering where my order was that I had placed with another associate. He was apologetic and immediately jumped in to help me out. He had made such a great impact with his caring character, his knowledge, his honesty and in following up on things that naturally he became, That Guy to call when I had a question, needed gifts or something for the house. Look, we all feel great when someone remembers our name and we hear it in the vast space of a large store, he reminded me of that feeling the other day when I was shopping for Christmas gifts. I waited for him as I watched how he managed his clients, explaining the Nespresso machines, the difference between them and what’s available. Honestly, now that I’m thinking about it, it’s amazing how he stays on top of his knowledge of products and his surrounding environment. It would be a very sad day for me to ever walk in and he’s not there. Bloomingdale’s and Nespresso you are lucky to have him represent you both, as service in retail is not what it once was, this man has been consistent in my experience dealing with him and I would like him to know how much he’s appreciated! I wish you success always, thank you Nick, from the bottom...
Read moreThe Chanel makeup counter associates are uppity, unhelpful and rude. Strange considering it's their job to help you with makeup?
I stopped at the Chanel counter and was interested in trying on 3 products. Two women asked if they could help me and I said yes, I was interested in trying an eyeshadow, skin tint, and blush combo. They told me I would need to make an appointment for a makeover in order for them to do that.
I was like, uh, I'm literally right here, why would I schedule an appointment to come back so you can...do your job? When you could do it...now? And their excuse was that they don't help apply makeup unless you've scheduled an appointment.
Why tf did they ask if I need help then? I'm perfectly capable of viewing and selecting makeup myself. If they are just cashiers, then they should stand at the register and wait for me to check out, not offer help when they are unwilling to provide any. I've never heard anyone at ANY makeup counter, store, etc, tell me they can't help try on a tester. Why do ya'll have makeup brushes in your pocket then!??!
Overall totally bizarre experience. Would never shop for makeup at Bloomingdale's again. At Nordstrom, the Chanel girl did my friend's entire face and guess what, she bought 300$ worth of product. At Bloomingdale's, I walked out empty handed, but not before the woman chased me to give me her card, as though I would ever give her my business/commission? Happy to go literally anywhere else and give my business to someone who is,...
Read moreMy husband and I went to this Bloomingdale location and were racially profiled. We went to pick up an online pick up order and as we approached the an employee for help she ignored us to help a white woman. We received the same treatment once we made it to online pick up area. We were ignored , finally someone came to help us and the employee asked my husband for ID to verify his identity. She did not ask ID for other white woman who were picking up orders. We felt very unwelcome and will not be returning to this location .it's very sad that this day and age people of color are receiving this kind of unfair treatment . We even saw a couple of items that we wanted to purchase and decided against it as we felt our dollars are not appreciated at this store .We will bespending our hard earned money elsewhere. Management should really consider teaching thier employees how to treat customers with respect and dignity....
