Lewis Orchards & Farm Market — Local services in Hagerstown

I was out driving around the Smithsburg, Md area hoping to find an apple orchard in early in December that had not yet closed for the season. I came upon Lewis Orchards as the first orchard. So I decided to stop and check out the place. What a find!!! I feel like I hit the jackpot. They still had apples and a nice selection too. So I decided to buy 3 bushel. I got a variety of Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith and Pink Lady. I was a little worried about the quality and freshness of the apples since it was early December. I bought them primarily to cook and freeze and enjoy throughout the year. When I got home I tried a sample of each variety. Oh My Goodness was I surprised. These were some of the best apples I have ever tasted. They were so fresh and crispy, and oh so tasty. I guess I won’t be cooking up as much of them as I had planned since I will be eating them fresh and sharing them with family and friends. Nothing like a crispy and juicy apple right from the orchard. Thank you to all at Lewis Orchards & Farm Market for the great apples. Happy Holidays!!!

Went to let the dog out for a tinkle because I thought they were closed for winter. I was surprised that the owner stopped and opened his place for me. Big place out in the country! This is a wonderful place. Family owned. I may be biased as I do work there and have for many years but it's all about customer service. For the gentleman that left a one star rating if you would have called and brought your produce back to the market the following week we would have replaced your fruit or refunded your money.
