Great Selection for Sealed, not much else

This place has a great selection of sealed products to open at very competitive prices, sometimes less than market price, and the convenience of getting those types of products in person is huge. The singles selection isn’t the best, but it could be my taste. It’s almost all scarlet violet illustration rares, and swsh alt arts. Cool cards to gawk at but they’re basically the same handful of cards every shop has. I understand not everyone collects vintage but a few xy ex cards or a lvx or two would be nice.

The issue here comes with selling. This store advertises a trade in rate of 80% but do not expect that to hold up. I once tried to trade a Japanese Ionos Bellibolt ex SAR, the owner said the store doesn’t sell japenese cards so he wouldn’t take it, as I was standing in front of a case of japenese cards. I asked again to sell the card without pointing out the blatant hypocrisy in which he then proceeded to call the card fake. My family was with me and they backed me up that they watched me pull the card at another local card store. The owner walked away and came back with a YouTube video on his phone with a video on comparing real and fake japenese cards. I knew that card was real so this aggravated me, I watched the video then urged the owner to watch the video himself. In full honesty, I was losing my patience here, so this is when I became noticeably upset. He finally watched the video and then inspected the card again. He said the card was moderate play at best because there was a print line (one not noticeable nor important unless one was submitting the card for grading, the card was by all means near mint). He then went back and forth between saying the card was fake and I’m bad condition. The woman working was able to help and sent the card in the discord to find potential buyers, once a buyer was found, the owner still refused to buy it because it was possibly fake. He told the woman working in a very rude tone to make sure the buyer knows the card is probably fake. After going back in forth in the discord the buyer stated once more they wanted the card. Finally the owner offered me 50%, which I took for the sake of getting the transaction over with. It’s ok if you don’t want the card, but please just say that outright instead of making contradictory excuse after excuse. From my knowledge, a trad win rate should be a flat rate for any cards one wants to sell or trade, stores can make specific offers for collections or cards under certain guidelines but a rate is a rate.

SELLER BEWARE

I was looking to sell a large quantity of cards and I took time to meticulously go through them and find cards with value and separate them from the “bulk.” I was informed that they paid 70% of market price for cards over $5 and 50% for cards under $5 (if this were true, I would have made a deal with them). Through my research I came to find that my cards held a substantial amount of value. I fully understand this is a business that needs to profit and I believed my expected price of about 60% for everything would be reasonable, but the offers was truly insulting. I was offered 10% of true market value. I was genuinely shocked by the offer and upon my decision to reject, they proceeded to dump my cards on the counter and had me put these cards away. Overall the experience was really poor; from the offer I received to the treatment of me and my cards after politely rejecting their insulting offer.

I’m honestly a really big fan of pokemon and tcg as a whole but this shop and more specifically the owner has a serious problem , I’ve personally seen him at shows yelling at customers , vendors , and I’m assuming his employees over money and how much he can flip something , I’ve seen that shop go through so many employees I’m pretty sure it’s down to just him and the female he constantly yells at , overprices almost all of his product then offers less then 70% for cards , I’ve recently been going to kryptonite toys in greencastle , only 10 minutes away and wayyyy better pricing , also the owner is very friendly and doesn’t yell at...
