This restaurant is absolutely WONDERFUL. Did I mention I LOVE Los Primos Mexican Restaurant? Excellent service. Not too many booths and tables, well spaced out so you feel like you are in a community while still enjoying privacy at your own table. Excellent draft IPA beer, cold, fresh, with the perfect amount of foam, served in the largest glass I have ever seen, fantastic Margaritas, a lovely young lady server who is fast, friendly, professional and appears to be in charge of the whole operation, and the FOOD!! Fantastic. The chips were warm, the salsa fresh and delicious. I ordered steak fajitas - seasoned to mouthwatering goodness, cooked perfectly with bell pepper, onions, etc. and served with three HOT, soft flour tortilla on a super hot cast iron skillet, sizzling and smoking on the table. Omg. YUM! It even had little bits burned and stuck to the bottom of the skillet and delicious to pick off and pop in your mouth! And the portion was generous; I’m a 200 pounder with a corresponding appetite, and had to ask for a box to bring half home. I believe the dish was under 15 dollars. My partner ordered a steak fajita salad and was also quite impressed with its goodness. I have dined at a number of other Mexican restaurants in the area and I have no real complaints. My one regret is that I have never noticed Los Primos until today. It is by far the best in every way. Again, compliments to the head server…what a worker, and what excellent personality and charisma. She made us feel like we were eating in her home and that she was proudly serving us some of her favorite recipes she had labored over. Thank you for a memorable experience and a delicious...

Having grown up up in Texas, our group of 3 are always looking for an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. Have been here twice. Good experience with staff. Peach margarita is my go to. Food is just spicy enough to make my nose run without burning my mouth.

My disappointment is the sopaipillas. They are not a hollow pastry as is a true sopaipilla. Flour tortilla with plenty of cinnamon sugar but not truly what were were expecting. We currently have to travel to Frederick for these delectable treats. It would give a cutting edge to the Mexican Restaurant industry in Hagerstown if you would have true sopaipillas on your menu.

UPDATE: 2/23/20 YAY! Sopapillas are back and improved as a hollow pastry. Not quite fluffy enough, but delish none the less. Food was delicious and filling as usual and that peach margarita was PERFECT! Virginia G was a great server with a smile and many checks on how...

It was July 4th and I craved Mexican food. Ty w Mexican restaurants were closed - that is except for Los Primos. George greeted me and was attentive. I wanted a Margarita, but the liquor license isn’t issued yet. I had lemonade. When what I wanted wasn’t exactly on the menu I asked for a concession and George offered to take some off the check. It was not necessary. I got a whole meal for the price of a combo at Wendy’s More than that, they wanted to make sure my special request was what I got. I got it and so much more. I got a family. Jorge is the father. I won’t slaughter the wife’s name, but she is a beautiful woman from Peru. The atmosphere was quiet, while the family energy is invited. Young children played and couples dined. The environment is CLEAN. CLEAN BATHROOM, hand soap and paper towels. Should I travel back through,...

Under new ownership as of summer 2024. Very nice people, and they have very good and flavorful food. The server was very friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu questions. They have a small (separate) Asian style menu with delicious homemade soup. It’s similar to the clear soup you get from hibachi restaurants, but it’s chicken broth based, and the serving is a little bit larger (the taste is similar to pho but without the meat and noodles in it). I like how they put a lot of mushroom and green onion in it, and the mushrooms are chopped up into very small pieces. I don’t care for large chunks of mushroom (it’s a texture thing), but these are nice and finely chopped. Shrimp fajitas were very good, and so was the rice and beans. The other staff member there (maybe the owner) was very friendly as well.

Los primos is a special kind of family restaurant that I can only imagine would drive the likes of Gordon Ramsey crazy. This fantastic little restaurant has 2 full menus and 3 styles of cuisine. Including Mexican, peruvian, and Hibachi. Yes, there's a lot to choose from, and I am very pleased to report that every bite from my personal experience was truly delicious. I had AjĂ de Gallina, a dish consisting of shredded chicken, potatoes , rice, and a yellow sauce. As well as salchipapa for an appetizer complete with peruvian green and yellow sauces. The server was outstanding and helped to explain the various represented cultures and styles. These are due to the wide range of influences the family brings to the kitchen.
