A Life-Changing Experience. Thank You, Tenacity Fitness & Carol!
I was first introduced to Tenacity Fitness by a coworker — a physician associate who raved about the space and the team — and I’ll be forever grateful for that recommendation.
Back in December 2023, I underwent a surgery that left me feeling disconnected from my body. By January 2025, at 5’7” and nearly 190 lbs, I found myself in a place I never thought I’d be. I had always been slender, but after turning 33, the weight crept on and nothing I did — not even diet and exercising on my own — seemed to make a lasting difference. I’d lose 10 lbs, only to gain it back.
I had driven by Tenacity a few times, thinking, “Maybe this could help,” but never mustered up the confidence to go in. Then March came — and with a family reunion on the horizon for August — I knew I needed a real change.
From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt something different. The personal trainer who greeted me was warm, understanding, and genuinely interested in my story. She took the time to listen to my lifestyle, my health history, and my goals. Her response? “We can absolutely get you where you want to be.”
Since March, I’ve been training with Carol two days a week for 30-minute full-body sessions. And wow — it’s now mid-July and I can honestly say the physical and emotional transformation has been incredible. The workouts aren’t overwhelming or punishing — they’re thoughtful, targeted, and empowering. Most days, I leave surprised it’s already over.
I’m just about to break into the 150s, but more than that — my core strength, posture, and overall physical confidence have skyrocketed. I’m wearing clothes I thought I’d long outgrown. I’ve even started trying new styles I never thought would suit me. My abdomen, chest, and arms are the strongest and leanest they’ve been in years, and it’s not just my body that feels better — I have more energy, mental clarity, and hope.
I genuinely look forward to leaving work and heading to a space where everything is already thought out and personalized for me. No guesswork, no intimidation. Just results, encouragement, and real progress.

   Read moreI joined Tenacity Fitness after about four and a half years of not having any kind of consistent fitness routine. The blurred lines between my personal and professional life, following almost three years of working from home, had my stress levels off the charts. I knew both my mental health and physical health would benefit from a regular exercise routine, and because I tend to be more consistent when I'm accountable to someone else, I wanted to work with a trainer. After seeing TF advertised on FB multiple times, I reached out. Steve sat down with me after being flexible enough to let me reschedule my consultation at the last minute, and actually listened to me when he asked about my goals. Steve set me up to work with Coach Dean, who's one of TF's newest trainers, but I wouldn't have known he was so new, had I not just seen it on their Facebook page : ) After almost three months of not being nearly as consistent as I'd planned with my workouts, I feel better mentally and physically. Dean has sneaky ways of pushing me to work harder than I think I can. His work ethic and professional maturity are well beyond what someone might expect from someone his age. While I wasn't interested in working out for aesthetic reasons, a friend noticed my results a few days ago - and that felt pretty amazing. I definitely have Dean to thank; I don't think I'd have been able to do that on my own. In all honesty - TF could charge twice what they do for personal training and I'd hand over my credit card without thinking twice. The gym itself is small without feeling cramped, very clean, has plenty of equipment, staff is all friendly and it's never so crowded there's a long wait to use equipment.    Read moreI’ve been going to Tenacity for 3 months, & personal training with Lindsay twice a week has been a great experience! I have chronic disc/spinal issues and autoimmune disorders that affect my joints. I've been to physical therapy multiple times over the past 15 years, along with 7 years of yoga, & have been told by physical therapists that I needed to add in regular strength training to lessen pain and flare-ups. Having almost no experience in a gym, I was very nervous about hurting myself more by doing things incorrectly, and put it off for years until I found Tenacity. Every session, Lindsay has different, personalized workouts which keep my issues in mind, and is always checking in to make sure I’m not overdoing it or in any pain – even by text in the hours or days after sessions. She takes her time to show me the correct form for each exercise, mirrors me to help me further, and will pivot the workout plan if I’m having a rough day with pain or inflammation. She knows her stuff, is supportive & non-judgmental, and I actually look forward to working out for the first time in my life!
