A lot to be desired.
On a positive note, they do feature genuine plus size clothing. Not a lot of alternative/goth stores can say that. They feature a wide array of pleasant deals, even if they don't have a bunch of plus size clothing for plus size individuals to choose from. They have nice variety of different items, though a lot of it is expensive.
This shop was originally marketed as a more inclusive and cheaper hot topic. It's not.
I'll be honest, this store might've been worth the 2+ hour drive that my mother and I drove to get here the first time, but it was not worth the 2nd visit.
A lot of the clothing was from SHEIN, something that discouraged me from buying the first time I was here - I asked about it, they told me that they didn't know any better. It seemed like all the plus size clothing they had was from SHEIN. They told me they were just getting rid of stock. I accepted their reasoning and purchased, assuming it to have just been a genuine mistake on their part. When I went back in yesterday, I saw even more SHEIN clothing. I did a little bit of research and found out that they've been operating for years. Plenty of time to educate themselves on SHEIN. If I wanted a cheap, low quality top from SHEIN - I'd buy from SHIEN. Not them, for an even more expensive price.
My mother was particularly excited to go back to the sister store that features metaphysical items, but she was disappointed. I didn't understand why she didn't buy anything until we left and she told me. She told me that all the stuff was just commercial, it had no life or substance or story to it. For reference, we have a wonderful indigenous tribal shop near us. Lovely native amercian woman who runs it, she always is sourcing things as local as she can and supporting her community. She commonly sells jewelry and art made by her community, she gives her community a space in their shop. It all can be sourced down to where it came from.
Perhaps, the bitterest taste of the entire experience was being told that some things were made for "skinny girls" - and that's not inference, or me taking something the wrong way, the lady at the front desk told me that. Like she was grossed out I even suggested I try it on. It hurt.
If you're looking for a genuine plus size store, this isn't it. I'd recommend Torrid, honestly. They have good deals for clearance and have amazing sizes for ALL bodies, not just those who are skinny.
I'm sorry, but this store is fake.
It was fun to go to one time, but it isn't worth the hassle to go back. I don't know if I'll be getting a reply to this review trying to explain their side of things, but please don't bother. Genuinely, this store wounded me. A lot of talk of inclusiveness for it to simply just be cheap Amazon trickents and SHEIN clothing.
EDIT to owner:
So, so, so very sorry I called your gimmicky and overpriced store for what it was. My grandmother lives in Eastgate, I live up in Bethel.. since we're being all technical and by the maps, it's well over an hour away and with traffic it did take 2+ hours to get there.
You don't have to worry about me coming back, I'd put more worry into fixing up your store so it's what's advertised. I'm sorry that $24.99 for a short and shirt set from Shein feels cheap to you, but I could've gotten a much nicer and high quality set from the clearance rack at Torrid - to which I did, I haven't been back to your store.
My mother laughed and agreed with you, but what did you want me to do? Tear into you right then and there? You seem to do so well with criticism, judging by your response. Sure, I'd love to give your store a call and personally express my concerns.. but could you handle what I have to say? I don't believe so.
You having some hand-made things isn't something to brag about, props to you for making some of your own oils and trinkets but I let the shame speak for itself when you're advertising cheap Amazon junk for 2x the price point. I don't need to comment on that. That's on you.
If you thought my last review was rude, enjoy...
Read moreSuper Rad! Pretty neat selection. I'd say 60/40 casual wear (hoodies, t-shirts)/"dressed up" gothic (dresses, corsets, blouses). I was pleasantly surprised with their sizes as I'm mid-size (18 pants, XXL/XXXL shirts + dresses) and they had a lot of stuff in my size!
For larger sizes the selection seemed okay, I believe they mentioned expecting more plus size corsets in the coming months.
Personally I believe that nothing was too expensive, definitely cheaper than places like hot topic, torrid, killstar, etc. which is relieving to see.
The only negatives I'd say were that there weren't as much dress-ier/romantic options as I would have liked, but for some quick, everyday staples it's great.
Also for those w/ sensory sensitivities there is an incense-y smell here as well as the sister store. I actually really like the smell of incense, but it may bother those who don't.
However the reason I rated 5 stars:
ACCESSORIES GALORE. Super cute jewelry, bags, harnesses, etc.
Super friendly staff! I have pretty bad social anxiety and they were so chill and helpful. It was my first time purchasing a corset and they talked me through it, reassured me, and just generally made me feel a lot more comfortable. As someone who is midsize shopping for something like a corset can be kind of scary, but I sensed no judgement AT ALL. For example, I love corsets style-wise but didn't really want too much cinching. The staff checked with my comfort level multiple times AND super casually got me a larger size. I usually dread trying stuff on because of that reason, but they were so nice and encouraging!!
Overall: reasonably priced, mostly casual gothic/witchy items, really cute stuff, great service. I am defo planning on...
Read moreCame up from cleveland to check out a couple of stores in the Cincinnati area including the Posh pagan and their sister store. Posh pagan is a really good affordable store And I know people say that and they're not actually affordable. Great atmosphere really chill lay back workers and a hover. They're doing their own work. You got any questions they'll totally ansvery kind very nice people. Definitely want to go back again. Their sister store the the alt path Really nice gem store if you're looking for essential witchcraft like journals, journal's different spells, different bowls, different bowls, different bowls, different bowls, different bowls. Different books on spells essentials for making stuff. They got a lot of different essence. They got a lot different insects there and candles for it very much an essential store if you want materials. And ingredients, you would go to a different store. And most of the materials that they have, there seems to be different gems and insects. But they are very much an essential. Witch store if you're looking to get into that stuff.
