Angel Nails — Local services in Hampden Township

Literally worst experience ever at a nail salon. I usually do my own nails, so I know what should be done, and they did not exceed my expectations. First, they wanted me to do dip powder when I said no, but ended up doing it anyway cause I don't like confrontation. Then we go to choose the type of red powder, and I chose the darkest. Also, I wanted a black and red gradient, but they said they can't do it with those colors when you absolutely can. Anyway, they ended up SWITCHING the red I wanted with this berry red and said "don't worry, it's dark too." I should have pulled my hands away at that point. Then I said I wanted blood drips and pulled up a reference for the shape. They said I'd need a different color cause they couldn't understand what I meant which isn't the worst part, but it's frustrating. Then she pulls out a dotting tool, and I thought, great, she'll get the drips right. NOOOOO she takes a nail art brush and creates drips that look like frog toes! Then put a matte top coat without asking what top coat I wanted. We ended up glossy, but this was a long exchange I didn't need. Then proceeds to make me pay $68 for it. I don’t recommend this place at all. First they charged me 35 and she barely spent any time doing my nails at all. I think I was in the chair for 35 minutes. The painting was horrible. The shape wasn’t square. Every coat they put on was in a different spot, so there was different shades of the color on every nail and yes 35 is cheap but I would’ve paid more for better service. The second time I figured I’d give them one more chance and I got almost the same thing as the first time they charged me $3 more dollars and did even worse. 2 nails weren’t filled correctly and the paint wasn’t even to the cuticle. I asked for glitter nail polish and received plain for all nails I mentioned it after I seen she applied plain and she said oh I’ll do that next and never did. They were more worried about my daughter putting her foot on their chair than good service. Nothing looks clean in there and I seen fleas on my leg so yea...

The people here are extremely kind and make great conversation, the atmosphere was great and I enjoyed being there. I have to be honest in the review though, and unfortunately, the nails weren’t more than three stars. I got matte white and then a set of matte black acrylics on the other hand (I’m a violinist, can only have long nails on one hand). My acrylics (something in between an almond and stiletto) were crooked and the thumb nail wasn’t fully attached at the tip. Both hands, however, had a lot of bubbles in them.

There was a quite humorous moment though, I asked for a swan as a design (wound up not having time to get it before they closed, that’s alright though) and the lady said she couldn’t do them.
