Armata's Market — Local services in Hampden

Always loved the Hampden Market and was so happy when Armata took it over. Love what they have done with the organization, automatic doors, and checkout registers. The staff is excellent: cordial and helpful.

One of our favorite items to purchase was mixed salads from the deli: egg salad, ham salad, and tuna. Tuesday I bought two pounds of the tuna salad and two of the ham salad. The ham salad was excellent - every bit as excellent as The Hampden Market’s was.

The tuna salad was another story. It did have plenty of bits of celery, but……. It was very dry and LACED WITH GARLIC POWDER (?) which could be smelled as soon as we took off the cover. Frankly, I don’t feel ANY garlic should be in tuna salad, but I think anyone would agree this batch would qualify as OVERLOADED with it. From now on I will ask for a sample taste.

Absolutely love love love this place! The entire staff is incredible! They go out of their way to get you what you need they have great fresh homemade baked goods they have a hot bar that they do dinners, great desserts and pastries, in fact to Great very difficult to get out of there without buying one or more. The new owners have done an absolutely phenomenal job! One of the owners Alex I think her name is great girl very friendly the whole staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. My mother's always tell me what a great job the butcher did and custom cutting meat for her they are all so nice. In fact maybe too great because they are always packed! Hard to even get a parking spot. But definitely worth looking for one to go in and experience the Great staff service and products. Armata's is always my...

I like to get meats there. Usually buy in bulk. It tends to be better deal. So when they had spoon roast on sale in their flier I was ready to jump on it. The wife and I made the trip out there only to be told that the meat didn't come in. Can't understand how you can have it as a leader in the flier if your not posative it's going to be there. Think it's more like someone maybe forgot to order it ? Anyhow so as not to have a wasted trip we bought a side of strip loin. I like to cut them up myself at home. Wich I did only to discover a large amount of fat on the underside. It used to be a no brainer, but starting to reevaluate it now. Probably best to call...
