Update 8-31-22. So I went back, I know that's weak but they are the closest in my area. Disappointed again! I bought sausage links and patties for the upcoming weekend, there's going to be a large group of us so I was buying the double packs (or just extra). When I went to the register my double packs, which were right next to the single packs, rang up 70 cents more each (sign said 2 for $5). Now I am not posting this because of the money, I'm posting because of their deceptive practices. I often see this sort of thing at Kroger. There will be tags by a couple of products (that are nearly identical) that don't match the price at the register. The joke about this instance, is A they wouldn't refund my money, B the twin packs in theory are usually less, and C they were the same ounce packages (I could have bought two that weren't taped together) The most laughable part of the entire thing is that the manager went back and did a price check, so she could have brought the correct packages up that were two for five. Instead she just chose to come back to the register and say that I was wrong, that actually the double packages were $0.70 more. Am I wrong here?! I'm done, DONE!!!!! The bottle return area was finally in service, but it was absolutely disgustingly dirty!
We all need to stop shopping here until they make major changes or go out of business.
I have been coming here for years but I keep on getting let down by lack of stock, increased pricing, and once again the bottle return being out of commision. I feel you keep pushing me to shop at Meijer, because that is what I end up doing. I'm frustrated with you Kroger and taking my...
Read moreI came into Kroger Thursday June 7th around 7:30pm to buy a cake & have someone write on it for me. I walked in & stood by the bakery for about 10mins & there was no one working there. I then walked over to the deli & asked a young girl if she knew if anyone was working in the bakery. She was really sweet & said let me see if I can get someone in the front to page, I said " great, I'll just wait over here". She came back over to me & said they were going to page but she may be on her break. Again, I said "thank you, I will continue to wait over here". Several minutes passed & a lady with red hair came walking over & gave me a short hello. At this point I'm getting pretty impatient, I asked her if she had anymore cakes in the back because there were not many out. This lady responses with a rude NO. I then said " do you have amy idea when you will have more available" her response was, " I don't know probably in the morning when we have a cake decorator." I finally said " ok thanks for all of your help, I'm glad I've waited over here for a half hour. I wasn't upset that there weren't anymore cakes, I was upset that she was so rude & didn't even offer to write on my cake I picked out. She didn't offer anything, nor was she polite in any way. I ended up having to buy frosting to write on my cake & wasted alot of time. I never write reviews, I even debated writing this one but it still upsets me. I've been in retail customer service for 14 years & would never handle a situation like this. Me & my family shop here all the time & have never had an experience like this. Gave it a 1 star because the girl in the deli was...
Read moreI only shop here occasionally because their prices, on average, are higher than Walmart and Meijer and their produce is mediocre. Sometimes they have really great sales, though. When I shopped here a few days ago, checkout was stressful. The self-scan machine kept sending alerts to the cashier. When they came to check on the alerts they didn't just check the items in my bag against what had been scanned. I had to stand there waiting several minutes while a slow-motion video played on the screen of me scanning my groceries. It was weird and uncomfortable and I kept wondering what I'd done wrong. The cashier never clarified anything, just walked away. I have severe anxiety. I hate going out to big stores in the first place and I aim to avoid human interaction which is why self-scanners are so great. Until now. I mean, you have to scan an item before you bag it. So, I don't understand what the cameras are trying to capture. It's like they're trying to figure out the secret to a close-up magic trick. As the days passed, I only felt worse about that experience. This sounds extreme, but it was kind of violating. Like grocery store TSA. The self-scanners don't have slots for coupons, either. You have to stand there for another 5 minutes waiting for the cashier to finish watching someone else's riveting slow-motion scanning play-by-play. I've lived near this Kroger for over 20 years and have had tepid feelings for it all that time. This last experience is enough to keep me away...
