Golden West Telecommunications — Local services in Hartford Township

God forbid you work passed 5pm Monday- Friday and you need any sort of assistance. Prices are way higher than average. Speeds are no where near what you pay for. And after 3 months I have yet to receive a single statement. And you need statements to make an online account to pay your bill incase you have an actual job that makes you work passed 5... like every job on the planet... you're honestly better off just getting a Hotspot from your mobile provider at this point. UPDATE. This trash company has a complete monopoly of the area and will find any which way to screw you. I lost my job and wasn't able to make a payment RIGHT on time. No payment plans. No calls, no mail. They CLAIM. to call and send mail. I have my phone 24/7, and check mail daily. Nothing except lies. Speeds are inaccurate. Aren't allowed to use your own modem (they say you can but they literally don't work with their network). These guys were pretty notorious about having lots of maintenance and troubles keeping the connection stable for a long time a couple years back.

Lately however Golden West has really stepped up and I don't think I'd even consider switching from this company to another one that offered slightly higher speeds.

Their customer support is amazing, and has always helped when I had issues in the past, but I haven't even needed to call customer support for a very long time. I have friends using midco in sioux falls that used to make fun of Golden West, but it's pretty comical now being able to do the same to them given I literally never have issues with Golden West at all anymore, and haven't for well over a year.

On top of that with fiber coming in soon it looks to be even more promising...

They said I had to have a landline phone in order to have the internet with them. The landline I'm being forced to pay for costs extra. What a scam. And they have a monopoly on service in my town. Imagine that. They also installed my router in my basement on the opposite side of my house from my family room. And guess what? My Wi-Fi is absolute garbage. I had to buy myself a Wi-Fi booster.
