With the Covid rate down and theaters re-opened I was incredibly ecstatic to see that the old movie theater up and running! My husband surprised me with tickets to view Death on the Nile, boy was I in for such a disappointment. Having purchased our tickets online we check in using their QR code scanner. The lobby is desolate and lack of actual employees resulted in visitors aloof and void of attentiveness. The printer of the first 2 check in terminals froze, as we fumbled our way through multiple terminals of what appeared to be glitchy software it became apparent no help would be arriving! Luckily 3rd time was a charm. Since we prepaid for a drink and popcorn all we had to do was approach the concession counter. Staff members were friendly but appeared to be just as baffled as myself. She reviewed My receipt, issued my snacks and pointed me in the direction of our film. As we entered we noticed the film was already running! Thinking perhaps it was an accidental running I immediately head out to the lobby, once again the only staff on hand are those providing beverage cups and snacks. I pulled out my receipt once again only to find her face continued to express the growing confusion. The showing time on the receipt and order were incorrect, they did not match their scheduled show times that this location arranged. It became evident that up until this point it wasn’t even noticed by the individuals who served us. At this point it became apparent to me that saving your receipts and using them multiple times to re enter and refill is entirely too easy of a task to accomplish due to the severe degree of inattentive-ness! Since there were no other showings, the only solution was a refund to which we agreed. Trying to make mends for the fiasco my husband once again creates an order for a Friday night release. Their website offers a barrage of Food items such as pretzels, nachos ect. Knowing I love nachos he placed the order along with popcorn. Once again met with disappointment. They informed me they are not currently having the kitchen or any food and I could choose from a candy. (For a diabetic or a person with ED this is incredibly triggering) I asked would it be possible to replace my order of the unavailable nachos for popcorn. The employee refused and the only offered solution was the option to refund the original purchase of nachos and purchase a popcorn or settle on selecting a candy. As an employee who recognized this was an error on their companies fault, they should gladly offer solutions which satisfy both parties. Although they boast of hygiene measures, not a single hand sanitizer station could be seen. The Popcorn was stale and the flavoring was left out for all to run their fingers over despite the ongoing pandemic. 1st is a fluke, second a coincidence.. I’m not eager to create unwarranted traditions. Get it together or you too will meet the same fate of bow tie cinemas. This is the second Friday that cinepolis was sold out while you could barely find 10 people to a theater meant for 75. If I could give 0 stars I would, so I’ll settle for 1. If you want a good experience and can manage/afford to travel the couple extra...
Read moreUpdate: gave it another try.. watched the Minecraft movie in theatre 7 and it was so low I couldn't hear the movie over chewing my popcorn.. I would've had a better experience watching it from home. the arcade is ok.. but for the price you pay you can't really play too many games.. they have prizes that you can't buy but you can spend lots of money to get a little bit of points and leave with a lollipop.. it's like they intentionally want to taunt the kids... no way you could get an actual worth it prize unless you spend 100.00+ in the arcade.. what's up with that??? & the arcade is only open Friday - Sunday ... bummer ... whoever bought the building needs to do some major reconstruction. The building is literally falling apart. The pillars are detached from the upper building and are cracking on the outside.. pretty scary considering the tragic event at jet set when the building caved in on everyone inside. Definitely my last time coming here.. it's a shame because this movie theatre is really close to home.. we will be heading to cinepolis.. where there is awesome food, a full bar and a waitstaff to cater to you while watching your movie. It's sad to have watched this place go completely down hill. The only thing updated in this place are the seats.
Really creepy run down movie theatre.. with a twist... lol I came here in a Saturday and there was no cashier in the front... there's about 8 computers in a row that greet you when you come through the door .. all of them have a black screen except for one.. the once you check your tickets out in... there are creepy people lingering in the lobby .. but not a single person works there that you can see when you walk in... then as soon as you walk in, to your left hand side there is an arcade.. looks nice... will update when I try it out... there are no menus on the screens at the concessions they're all blacked out... the confession stand is sticky and dirty .. it just looks gross.. and there's only like 2 people working and they're chatting with their friends who either came In to watch movies or just came to keep them company. There are no workers waiting to see your tickets at the entrance.. or at the theatre door.. there are no names of movies on any of the theatre over heads .. everything is blacked out like somebody forgot to pay the light bill up in here! And not to mention it is freezing cold in the movie theatre's.. straight get the flu cold... and let's not forget how dirty the theatre was when I walked in seats were greasy food on them it was nasty.. for it to be new I wouldn't recommend...
Read moreOn March 20, 2022 I came to this theater when I could not find a good start time at my local Cinemark in Manchester. This would be my first visit to a movie theater since the beginning of the pandemic. I was looking forward to watching X (2022) with Mia Goth (A24 film).
When I entered through the doors, I found a dozen ticket kiosk pcs with recipe printers, but no human employees selling tickets. Tickets could only be purchased through a half dozen kiosk pcs. The software on the Kiosk wasn't intuitive as it kept asking me for a code. Another patron had to help me find the screen to purchase the ticket. I work in IT so this was embarrassing as the menu system in the software wasn't well designed.
Inside the theater, the first row seats were extremely uncomfortable. Those seats could not recline backward. The projector was out of focus. The entire film wasn't sharp. I never experienced a theater with an out of focus projector before. Why wasn't someone in the projector room checking the screen?
The movie sounds from the adjacent theater room could be heard inside our theater room. Supposedly this cinema complex had been renovated in 2021 during the height of the pandemic. The renovators did a lousy job insulating sound from adjacent theater rooms. This noise spillage into our theater was very distracting. I could hear a car chase scene from the adjacent room while watching X (2022) in rural Texas. This was the worst cinema experience I have ever had in 54 years. Absolutely terrible!
At least the place is clean. But it seems they are working with a skeleton crew and it shows in the quality of the movie experience. I don't think I will watch additional films here. If this is the new post-COVID experience of going out to the movies, I rather wait until the film shows up on a streaming provider. Wow, just terrible. Apple Cinema needs to hire some technical quality control people to...
