My fiancée and I had a wonderful experience working with Home Comfort Warehouse through the entire process of purchasing, installing, and using our new wood stove.

We recently moved into a new home this summer and knew we wanted a wood stove for the centerpiece of our living room. While we have oil baseboard heat, we thought that we could save some money burning wood harvested from the property. After asking around and some google searches, we settled on visiting Home Comfort Warehouse to start our search and I am glad that we did.

We were greeted by Nathan on the showroom floor. After discussing our needs and the details of our home, Nathan walked us through the basics of wood burning and spent another 60 minutes fielding our questions and discussing the pros and cons of nearly every model on the floor plus several options that were not displayed. At no point did we feel pressured into a purchase or like we were trying to be up-sold on a model. In fact, Nathan originally recommended one of the cheaper models for our needs and, in the end, that is exactly what we ended up purchasing. I credit his expertise and professionalism as to why my fiancée and I are so happy with our stove. The stove that we settled on is perfectly sized for our home, keeping the living room/dining room/kitchen at 74, the bedrooms at 66, and the basement at 58, which are perfect temperatures for those locations. The stove is easy to maintain, light, and manage the temperature of. We could not be more pleased with Nathan's recommendation.

Before we paid a penny, Nathan went above and beyond to visit our home and confirm measurements and see the exact layout of the house. That visit further convinced us that this was the stove to get. I put a downpayment on the stove and install as soon as I received the quote. We scheduled delivery a couple weeks out, as I was going to be away for work.

When delivery day arrived, a two-man crew (Ross and Joe) was sent out to install the stove. Both men could not have been more courteous, clean, and professional. I'm a very DIY minded individual, doing my own electrical, plumbing, remodeling, driveway grading myself. However, a stove installation was way out of my experience. I am grateful to both Ross and Joe for letting me hover over them as they worked, fielding my ignorant questions, giving suggestions on how to use the stove, harvest wood, general maintenance, etc. The work was done in (what felt to me) no time and they left my living room cleaner than when it started (construction dust from remodeling).

After the installation, we started our first fire and have been using the stove nearly daily. Our oil furnace has only been used to heat our water tank and to keep the house warm while we were away to visit family. We recently had a power outage and, while we do have a backup generator for the well and furnace, it was great peace-of-mind to know we could keep the house warm and cook hot meals on top of the stove.

When you go into a business to ask a simple question and you even wait patiently cause he has a customer, another customer comes in and you kindly let that customer go because they were picking up a part. Then another gentleman comes back in says I’ll be right back he comes down he says how may I help you? I asked do you sell parts for pellet stoves. We purchased our Vermont Castings wood stove from Home Comfort Warehouse and the experience has been superb from start to finish. Bill Mathewson assisted us with making the appropriate selection for our needs, personally visiting our home construction site on two separate occasions, working with our builder to ensure correct placement and installation. Bill was careful to thoroughly describe the various products we were considering and guided us toward the items that would be the best fit rather than attempting to upsell us with things we didn't need.
