Driving south from Kentucky, we started looking for a local restaurant, not far off I-65, with a menu that would let me find something low sodium. They had a decent salad bar, and I ordered grilled catfish and paid $1.25 extra for a baked potato. Husband had a Philly cheesesteak with fries and a a pickle. I gave him the coleslaw that came with my fish. He said the folks in Philly would be shaking their heads, because the sandwich was not typical. But, we both cleaned our plates. Unfortunately they were out of the fried apple pie that he wanted for dessert. We arrived just after 1:00 and the restaurant was fairly packed. Not surprised they were out of a couple of desserts. The dining room is decorated in vintage signs, and old memorabilia. It was fun to look around. The staff was very nice, but trying to clean up after the rush, which I'm not a fan of while I'm eating. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

The food was great and the service was awesome too! Abby was our waitress and she was friendly and helpful, always there before we knew we needed drinks or napkins, just an all around pleasant person. I had the Appalachian steak and fries a salad and my wife had catfish and fries and a salad too. The Appalachian steak was cooked perfect and the fries were crispy. The salad bar was big with almost anything you could want on a salad! The catfish was cooked crispy and was excellent according to my wife. We really liked this restaurant and we will definitely be back again!

This has become my favorite restaurant because of the food service and atmosphere. The cheesy wedge potatoes are wonderful and the most different new taste for potatoes. I love their grilled lemon peppered catfish fillet which is my favorite choice when I go there along with the wedged potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. They also have a huge salad bar. There is a lot of 50s memorabilia throughout the restaurant. You check out in front of the 1957 red Chevrolet. Very unique and dining experience

We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Thursday June 27th. We made a drink order an appetizer order almost immediately upon being seated. The drinks were promptly brought out and the appetizer (fried mushrooms) was brought out soon after. We did have two separate orders but one of those orders was a large pork chop plate served with a loaded baked potato. The other order at the table was a grilled chicken sandwich and a chicken wrap. The items one would expect to arrive first didn't arrive until about an hour after ordered. The pork chop plate was brought out within just a few minutes but the chicken entrees were brought out nearly an hour later. Although the chicken sandwich was delicious, the chicken wrap was absolutely horrible. The flour tortilla in which the chicken wrap was wrapped was hard, dry and burned to an extent the chicken inside resembled more like rubber than chicken. I feel it's absolutely ridiculous to have to wait a full hour for something that's not even edible. Upon paying for our meals (two separate orders) the restaurant cashier ask "if we were the people that had to wait forever for our meals" I advised that I received my pork chops and fried mushrooms almost immediately and they were delicious but I also informed the cashier that the other plates not only took forever but one of them was absolutely horrible and not edible. She essentially shrugged her shoulders and gave the total... Which was definitely the full price after she acknowledged that it took an hour to give the food and we made it clear that one of those plates wasn't even edible. Prior to this experience, I've had nothing but delicious food and excellent service at this location. I don't know why this particular visit was any different but based on this visit I doubt I will ever return but because my food was amazing, I may give them a second chance but I doubt my relatives that were with me will ever give you the time of day again. You lost a potential customer and it's your own fault....

My family and I met there to eat before a very special function. I ordered my steak medium well. It was very rare...to the point that it was only lightly seared on the outside edge (bled all over my plate when I cut into it. After flagging down the waitress, I sent it back. They seared the edge that I'd cut off of it and brought it right back. It was still cold!!! After again finding the waitress, she seemed very unconcerned about the issue but offered to take it back again. I had absolutely zero confidence that it would be any better and we had to leave. She just left. We found her AGAIN and told her I'd like to speak to the manager...thinking that I would get a resolution. She was very unconcerned with the problem and was not offering any kind of acceptable solution so I just said that I did not want to pay for a steak that was inedible. She was very RUDE but finally said that she wouldn't charge for the steak but I would have to pay for the sweet potato (that I ate 2 bites of). Fine!!! I can eat a steak anywhere between medium rare and down but cannot eat raw, cold meat. She blamed it on being busy....they weren't close to full and we went in at 4 pm! How busy do you think they'd be at that time???Yep, not even close! I'd hate to see what they serve at prime time! I was very polite with her and have never been treated like the Manager came back at me with. She acted like it was such a inconvenience for her to have to deal with any kind of issue and thought I should wait and let them send that raw meat home with me....even though the rest of my family was finished and we had to leave. Needless to say, I'll never be back in there again. She lost them at least 6 customers that night. My family couldn't believe how rude...

What a wonderful experience! I was here about 2 weeks ago for my daughters volleyball team tournament. We had a group of about 25 & were given our own room allowing us privacy & the ability to spread out comfortably. The food was great & the prices better than most restaurants, about $10 average per entree. The best part about this visit was our server! I really wish I remembered her name to post here bc she was that good. She worked our entire party on her own, was organized & punctual, constantly checking in on us. Our group had 12 separate tickets & the guests on each ticket were seated in different places around the room. We waited about 25 minutes for food, which was all served at the same time. She had god runners assist her but she placed all the meals in exactly the right place. There was only one kitchen mix up where my daughter got my fries & I got her wedges. The server was apologetic & offered to bring us each an additional order of the side we ordered. SHE made this experience great & never showed any stress or frustration, even with 10 14-15 year old girls! Considering it was my first visit to this restaurant, the entire staff made a great first impression. I would definitely recommend this restaurant & will happily return...
