Scrapping for over 30 years. Today was our second time here and it will be our last, due to one particular employee.
The Russian man is extremely rude and disrespectful. Especially to women. When I came in alone the first time he literally rolled his eyes at me when I didn't know the procedure. He watched me unload my car into the cart and then the cart onto the scales... There were no other customers. He literally stared at me struggling and made zero effort to lift a finger to assist me, even when he was directly in front of me at the scales.
He has also been rude, abrupt and unprofessional to both my husband and I.
He told us on 2 occasions that stainless steel is not magnetic and refused to buy it from us. But has no problem taking it to "dispose of it" without payment (we declined this offer). In our experience there are magnetic and non magnetic stainless steels depending on the grade. As of today non magnetic is priced at 44 cents while magnetic is 31 cents per pound. Therefore, the non magnetic ss that he wanted to discard for nothing was worth several $
To top off this frustrating visit, he locked the door to the ATM prior to finishing up the last 3 customers. Those 3 customers were left with a slip showing the $ due, but no way to get their cash. When we questioned him about getting our money he very rudely and abruptly, with his back to us told us to "go to Cafe".
From other reviews posted here, it appears that customers with trucks full of metals are very happy with Sullivan's. But the average person/homeowner with less than a truck load is treated very poorly.
Due to this particular employee we will not...
Read moreI have been scrapping metal for over 10 years. I tried Sullivans out today as there website and customer service was outstanding. I called before I arrived to verify that they accepted the precious metals I have obtained IE: Bronze, Titanium, Brass and yellow brass. I scrapped my heavy metals without issue until I had to go to another section to scrap the smaller amounts of product. I was rudely met by a guy named Al who threw a bucket at me and told me "This is how it is done here". He then proceeded to argue that the bronze was not accepted there, the yellow brass was light iron, and my insulated copper wire was just wire. When I told him I would go somewhere else he began belligerent that I don't know what I'm talking about but he would accept my Bronze and Brass but for a lower copper price. I told him still I will find another yard and he started speaking a different language to another employee and was laughing at me. When I brought in my heavy box of Stainless Steel he watched me struggle to put it in his container and it spilled all over the shop. He just looked on as I had to scoop it all up and put it in "his" container instead of just weighing it in the box. Totally disrespectful and arrogant. Plus the prices are the lowest I have seen in this area. I will go back to 611 metals where the ALL the staff is friendly, helpful, and accepts all my precious metals without incident. I wondered why this place is always empty when I drive by,...
Read moreDid a drop off today, got my payment receipt (over $100.00) and went to their (ATM)machine to get paid. The machine only pays in TWO DOLLAR BILLS. Why does this business insist on paying their customers in TWO DOLLAR BILLS? That's not even the best part. Once I got home I counted the stack of TWO DOLLAR BILLS and i was shorted. So i immediately called the company and was coldly told the machine only pays out $80.00 at a time. I asked if there was a sign that says that ? The response was you should of counted your money. She is not wrong but, who wants to stand there and count out 40-TWO DOLLAR BILLS? She then told me if I want my money i have only 24- hours. I would have to return to their site to rescan my receipt to get the balance of the cash owed to me in TWO DOLLAR...
