Customer Service was HORRENDOUS then threatened by the end of meal by male kitchen staff!
Arrived to a pretty quiet morning at Daddy Pop’s hardly anyone there which is typically unusual for a breakfast place on a Saturday morning. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated in a mostly empty restaurant! Hmm. Finally seated. Table behind me was a large party and wanted t-shirts from the restaurant. We were passed by 2 waitresses 5 or 6 times before being acknowledged after the large party wanting T-shirts left! Hmm.
Spoke with the bus boy stating that our table was ready to order. Hmm. The bus boy.
Seconds after I asked for a waitress, the server from the large party walked over to take the order for drinks rushing and not listening to what was being said. Short woman, dark Bob haircut with no patience.
Finally got the drink order and was approached by an older blonde with short bob offering coffee top up that I literally just received only to realise she too was a server. Waited 10 more minutes to order for food. Relatively empty restaurant at this point! Short dark haired Bob came over and took the order. As the order was taken more people began to come in and the place it started to get crowded. The food came out relatively quickly and wasn’t very special at all and honestly overpriced (more about that later). More people were coming into the restaurant at this point and halfway through the meal was given a check. We continued to eat but were heavily monitored by the wait staff, I believe due to the new crowd coming in! At one point, I asked the bus boy for a menu as the check was hand written (very poorly scribbled) as I believed the waitress made a mistake. Again, the bus boy! I calculated several times then finally the coffee kicked in and I realised the order I thought I placed was for something else. My mistake!
However, as I was checking my bill, a Spanish looking gentlemen passed the table a few times with no words just starring me down (could be the owner) but as we sat he passed by the table very closely about 3 times each time starring. At no point was I asked for a box or if I needed anything else. Not at any point during my meal was I asked if everything was okay or if I needed anything. Hmm. Why?!
Spanish looking gentleman stopped by again as I had to wave down the bus boy to get a box to carry my left overs home. Wait staff that seemed very attentive to everyone else was watching as Spanish wanted to remove plates from the the table while I was placing my food into the box asking for a plate at the far end of the table. I asked that he wait so I could finish moving my food into the box. Spanish stood there watching me as I moved the food to the box waiting for me to hand him the empty plate. Hmm.
Sadly, this place has gone down in my estimation with customer service! The food was never that great! Mediocre at best! Why am I being ignored when no one was there, then rushed through my meal and physically being threatened by a male when the wait staff at any point could have asked if I needed anything or if they could help with anything. Isn’t that what wait staff does?! I guess I’m confused about how customer service works!! I paid my bill and tipped very generously as I’ll NOT EVER be back or recommend this place to anyone! I am a paying customer like all your other customers I expect to be treated with respect like everyone else, stop assuming or coming with your preconceived notions about me or my family!
Do better because your rude waitresses that lacked great customer service could have decompressed that situation before summoning Spanish to stand over me while I had to keep asking for help from bus boy and not my waitress!
DaddyPops!!!! DO BETTER! Your food ain’t worth the better than thou treatment from your staff!

Read moreBefore today, I'd only heard of this place from all the teachers from my high school. My fiancé, who has lived in the immediate area for his entire life, had never been here either. Well, this morning changed everything!!!
We had been awake since the wee hours of last night. For some reason, we were totally energized and we rearranged our house to expend that energy... all the way to 7:30am!
At that point, we realized that we had been running on empty. I was starving and so was he. I suggested going out to breakfast followed by Church. He asked me where we'd go to eat, but my brain had already decided and wanted to surprise him. DaddyPops was in my brain...
This place...wow! We freaking loved the counter seats, loved the booth design, loved that it looked like a trolley car, and it even has a working jukebox!!! Such an inviting atmosphere! Not too bright, not too dim. Just the right amount shine. Perfectly attentive staff. And the whole ambiance was balanced.
And the food.... OMG!!! I got the Stuffed Brioche French Toast, and my fiancé got the DaddyPops Duo. We also ordered 3 different sides: Scrapple, Corned Beef Hash, and Kielbasa. Between the two of us, we also had Apple & Cranberry juice, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate. Almost everything was gone by the time we left...!
I can't wait until the next weekend that starts with cleaning the house and ends with breakfast at DaddyPops!!!
The only negative thing about this place is the parking... I wish there was a lot, instead of...

They are known for breakfast, and their breakfast food is flavorful and tastes great -though it may be on the greasy side for some tastes. Heaping piles of home fries, eggs over easy, blueberry pancakes with powdered sugar and breakfast sausage, bacon or scrapple are the common fares.
They do not take reservations and seating is very limited and is first come/first serve, so there is often a line out the door. However, the line generally moves pretty quickly - typically a wait of 30 minutes or less. However, if the weather is bad and it's crowded, maybe try another day.
Parking is also somewhat limited in back. They have a "two deep" parking area where you can get parked in if someone pulls in behind you. To avoid this potential problem, don't pull all the way in. Usually only the staff are in the back, so don't feel bad about parking them in. And if you do get parked in, describe the car blocking you in to the wait staff and they will help find the owner.
Tips are in cash, so remember to bring paper money, or use the ATM in the small lobby area.
This is one of my favorite diners in Montgomery County! I hope...
