Gotta give this place two stars. They sold my father a chair but it was after extremely pushy sales and some ignorant remarks. First off, right in the door, they're on you and want to talk your ear off- no time to browse. We were looking for a recliner and were interested in a La-Z-Boy, but after we saw the prices and the poor quality/make of this time, we said we'd pass and look at other brands. The people here couldn't seem to stop trying to upsell the La-Z-Boy brand after that. Instead of telling us about other recliners, it was more about La-Z-Boy and how "great" that brand is compared to this cheaper yet just as decent brand here.
My dad tried out a chair and sat the way he would normally in it, what was comfortable for him, but the salesman decided he needed to tell him HOW to sit in the chair.. which was not how my father could sit (this brought up back problems, etc.) Another remark- and the lady caught herself- was how picky we were as if that were a bad thing. Well, you wouldn't buy an expensive piece of anything without weighing pros and cons and using that ideal to get what you want, would you? One man even tried to claim leather on the seats was just as strong as a leather belt- which is bs (we also strongly did not want leather but they still kept bringing it up for a while.)
In the end, my dad favored an off brand chair that was 200 dollars less (although they only went 50 off the price while most places slashed a third or even half off) and was just ready to get out of there. The salesmen act like we did them a huge injustice, though, as if they were offended of our purchase (probably missing that big commission, hm?)
Wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Didn't even know it was still here until it came up on our search for local furniture sellers. We were in a tight bind to find a recliner and if there was more time, we would have...
Read moreTried to do business with them, I sell cars and I have never had anyone walk up and look at a car and say, "yes sir I'll take this one!!" I don't expect people to, so when they gave me the price of my furniture, of course the salesman in me ask for a little more wallet friendly price! The owner stops me right there and says thats the best price I have. I just wanted a little help, but he wouldn't listen!! So just like car dealerships, gas stations, furniture stores, and banks( would you go to another bank for a better interest rate or take whatever they give you?), there is one on every corner!! Too many options, to loose a customer over a few bucks!!! Furniture has a crazy mark up, glad Stricklands is doing so good they dont need my business!!!!!! If your reading this, please, look elsewhere for a good price on...
Read moreWe special ordered several pieces of FlexSteel furniture and when we arrived to pick-it-up, it was very visibly damaged. Since we did not special order damaged furniture, we were hesitant to take it even though we really wanted it. Mr. Strickland was extremely unprofessional and tried to "patch-it" while we were there. He then told us he did not want to re-order it or do anything to resolve the issue. He told my wife and I that he was "afraid of us." Our sales representative was "Heather," and she did a superb job until delivery day. She hid from us as we were speaking with Mr. Strickland. Since this was a FlexSteel dealer, we assumed they were a first-class, top-quality store. But we learned that was not the case. We will never return to...
