La Mexicana Taqueria — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

Ok so here goes! I chose this place about a month ago. All I wanted was queso add beef, I went in was not greeted with a welcome not a smile! Ok I ordered and left. My dip was not bad, it was the exact texture queso should be and beef only makes it thicker! So I went back like a week later, again I was not greeted with a hello or a smile, same female working the front . I ordered the same thing, queso add beef. Got back to work and I had a cup of queso water! Sad part is I actually tried eating it! Just thinking maybe they had an off day. So I recommend my coworker to go and she went and ordered the same about two weeks later and hers was fine just like my first order! So I was thinking yayyy they got it back together! So I go back today 7/24/25 ordered the exact same thing and once an again came out with queso water! It was as if they put the queso and beef in the cup then added water or something maybe to stretch it! I took it right back over there! Cause there’s no way I’m paying for something of such poor taste! And the same young woman at the front, no smile who said she was in charge, really didn’t feel bad for what they served me! She tried to say it was because of the beef! No way because the first time it was done right! She has no customer service at all! How funny is that when you’re serving AMERICANS! My boyfriend and I were meeting a friend of his he hasn't seen in a long time so we decided to find a Mexican restaurant to meet at and visit. We went to this one and when we walked in we realized it was smaller than we had thought and there was a couple in there but other than that no one else... we thought that they have really good food the like when you find that little place that's so good yet you have all the bigger chains around that everybody goes to... well it was very hot outside and it seemed like they didn't have working air.... my boyfriend apologize to his friends saying it feels like we're still standing outside I'm sorry we've never been here before.... the girl that came to try to take her order must have been very fresh which is okay... he ordered a margarita I did too then she comes back and says they don't have frozen margaritas so it was either get it regular like on ice or order something else so he chose the margarita without being frozen and I just opted for a beer and at that point we decided not to order any food we would just drink our drink and visit I hate to say we will not go back...

Counter Service is horrible

I love this restaurant, the food is always fresh but as of late the customer service has just been down hill, the teens at the counter, really don’t want you to come in there and it shows. Not saying this is a race thing because idk if it happens to just me but goodness I come in and within 3 seconds I’m asked what do I want twice I’m like dang can I browse the menu first, if that’s ok and as I do that there is a sigh. I look at the clock to make sure I’m not being rude coming in right as they close but it’s 8:15 the sign outside says 9:30 so no way it is about to close, this is about the 4th time I’ve come within the past few months and the service is like this but it’s coo honestly that’s a wrap, like I said the food is good but to keep coming to receive attitudes for no reason I’ll just find a new spot that way...
