I was in Hattiesburg for the weekend, and my family and I ate at store #235 twice. Once Friday morning and again Saturday morning. Friday went well. We were seated relatively quickly, and the experience was pleasant. Our server was professional, efficient, and attentive. Saturday, however, was different. We decided to place a to go order. We had 4 of our 5 grandchildren on Saturday. When I walked in, I told the same server we had Friday I wanted to place a to go order. She said very rudely that they were "ONLY SERVING IN HOUSE GUEST. IF YOU WANNA DO A TO GO ORDER YOU'LL HAVE TO PLACE IT ONLINE !!" . I was startled by the tone but turned around and called my wife to GO ONLINE. The system WASN'T WORKING. The online ordering process was INEFFICIENT and ATINQUATED. The ordering menu didn't allow for ordering certain menu items. Otherwise, adding sides and extras was DESIGNED TO BE OVERPRICED. So we packed up the 4 grandchildren and went BACK to #235 to eat. There was no greeter at the door. No coffee for waiting customers. The customers were told by screaming voice that WHOEVER WAS HERE FIRST CAN HAVE THE NEXT AVAILABLE SEAT. There were a couple of times that waiting customers had "spirited " disagreements with one another AND staff about who was next. The atmosphere was chaotic, overwhelming, and unclean. Tables were left dirty for 4 or 5 minutes while customers waited, and the staff did OTHER THINGS. Once seated, our waitress was slow to arrive. Very polite, although ineffective. We had to request our food items that didn't come out with the meal, we asked for condiments for the food, refills, etc, on MANY occasions. By the time she'd remember or we got her attention, we were halfway through with the meal. The kids got waffles 10 minutes after our food arrived, even though we specifically asked they be DROPPED NOW. I was disappointed and confused as I used to be a MANAGER AT STORE 235. It was owned by Treetop Enterprises, and I trained under the always professional WILSON MOSELEY. What I experienced was nothing that I was ever taught to be the Waffle House way. The STAFF WAS FULL. And it was still a train wreck. No pull for production policies being adhered to. The grill operator screamed multiple times, "I GOT HOT FOOD! COME GET IT!" . And they were still slow getting the food and delivering it to the table. No concern for cleanliness or customer experience. Saturday was a disaster. I regretted exposing my family to the experience. It won't happen again....
Read moreWe have gone here multiple times recently, and got the same waitress. She was usually quite pleasant and attentive on our previous visits. Today's visit, (on 1/21/24 @ around 11:30am), was different, though. She seemed to be mimicking the behavior of one of the other waitresses, who is loud, rude, obnoxious, and only concerned with selecting music to play ridiculously loudly in the small restaurant. If she wants to act like someone at work, she should choose someone who is productive. We had 2 of the T-bone steak and egg meals. The kitchen staff was very nice, and corrected the part of our order that was incorrect very courteously. The food was very good. Going forward, we will select a different location. Those 2 waitresses were fixated on 2:00pm, the time they were getting off work, per their statements, where everyone in the restaurant could hear. It's a sad day when paying customers are treated like inconveniences by some...
Read moreOnly gave one star to leave the review. This Waffle House is terrible. They never answer the phone I literally sat there and called to see if they even budged for the phone the waitress Bethany hung up the phone. They also cheat you out your food I ordered a meat lovers & they only gave me 2 & said she didn’t charge me for it. Cook Allen also forgot toppings on one of my hash browns and argued that I was not supposed to get any on those. It was also a mustard pack in the middle of my hash browns. Avoid at all cost if these...
