Me and my wife’s experience with Kohala Zipline was extraordinary! We did the zip and dip package and it was worth every single penny. The zip lines were fun but also very safe, significantly better than the ones I’ve done in Mexico. The lines have a coating on them so they’re very quiet, which we were told was for the well being of the employees ears, but it does make the flying through the trees experience much more enjoyable. The dip part was also phenomenal! We went to a lunch overlooking the Kohala Forest reserve and the amazing canyons. It was breathtaking and the sandwiches were very good. The waterfalls were cool, but not cold. There are crawdads so watch your toes! I highly recommend bringing sandals for this part of the trip. Most importantly though, our guides were incredible. Our guide for the entirety of the day was Dane, who was incredibly helpful, respectful, and kind. He was always offering a helping hand and making sure everyone was comfortable. Dane was incredibly knowledgeable about the area we were in, consistently giving us information and history lessons about the majestic area. Kohala is significant because of King Kamehameha. Dane could tell us stories with excellent detail about Kamehameha which we found absolutely fascinating and made the day just that much more valuable. Dane also was able to point out and pick ripe guava fruit for us to snack on which was delicious. Dane was also just very chill and easy going, with a Good sense of humor too. Never felt rushed or uncomfortable. One of the best tour guides I’ve ever had! Curtis helped us out with zip lining in pair with Dane. Curtis was absolutely hilarious and loved to joke around and make people smile and laugh, but at the end of the story he cared about our safety and well being which is important! Would be stoked to zip line with him again. There are Venmo cards inside for tipping your guides if you don’t have cash, they absolutely deserve it! Absolutely 20/10 experience, I cannot wait to come back to Kohala and...
Read moreMy family and I made plans to vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii this year since my 11 year old son had never been to the Islands. My husband found this company online as one of our excursions. We were NOT disappointed! We originally wanted to do the Zip and Dip Tour but we waited too long to book it and there was no availability for the time we were going to be there. So we went with the 3 hour tour of zip lines and bridges and it was fantastic! Our guides Brett and Travis were awesome! I was very nervous going in (my husband, son and daughter had done this before and knew what to expect), but by the 3rd zip line I was very comfortable and had no fear, except maybe the bridges. LOL (I think I fell a little in love with both of them because of their patience and encouraging words, LOL). Brett and Travis were very knowledgeable and showed great expertise in the equipment. They were also very knowledgeable about the area and the local vegetation and trees. They also gave us some ideas on places to eat in the area and places to check out. Curtis was another guide who helped on the double zip line at the end and the rappel and he was also awesome. Thank you guys for an amazing adventure and if anyone is looking for something like this to do while on the island, you need to go here for the best experience. Aloha...
Read moreWe booked a Zipline tour with Kohala Zipline and had a BLAST. It was by far the best excursion we did on our trip. All of the employees were fantastic. They made sure everyone was having a great time, are focused on safety, and take our guides took the time to learn everyone’s name. Brett and Boo Boo(Seriously... that’s what they call him☺️) were amazing guides. They kept it fun and educational, and made sure everyone was comfortable the entire time. We would definitely use them again in the future! Their Zipline course is beautiful and well maintained. They take lots of pictures during your tour which you have the option to purchase afterwards. All of them are sent to your email with a link. We didn’t feel it was over priced. Extra precautions for COVID are in place, and all of the gear is sanitized after every use.
After checking in, you get into a 6 wheel drive vehicle for the ride up to the course. It is bumpy, so if you get motion sick easily keep that in mind. The ride is about 20 minutes up to the top. If you have a GoPro, they have helmets with mounts you can easily connect your camera to. They were happy to help us make sure the camera was rolling when we wanted or off when we didn’t want it rolling.
Thanks again to Kohala Zipline! They were fantastic, and we really had a...
