We were out exploring HÄwÄ« on a Sunday afternoon and stopped in for a late lunch. My husband got the macaroni and cheese pizza and I got a delicious huge slice of pepperoni. I love the crispy thin crust and spicy pepperoni. We both got a can of pop and our bill came to about $21, and we left a tip in the tip jar. It was probably one of the least expensive lunches weâve had on the island. Iâm sure we will stop again when we take guests to HÄwÄ«. The restaurant is a shady little patio behind/between some shops. Lots of Hawaii-surfer vibe. Also they were playing some great music. Getting NYC style pizza outside of NYC is largely impossible; lots of pizzerias say they have NYC style, but fail to deliver. Having lived in Brooklyn for a few years and being married to a Queens lady, I know that certain something NYC pizza has with the mix of salty & sweet sauce, oregano, cheese and bite of the crust.
The owners take pride in their pizza and it shows.
