It happened to be on Google under thrift store,so I checked it out on my way. Not a friendly store front, dirty windows, dark unpleasant. All that singlnal me to leave, but I've seen customers in and out with bags of goodies, OK, that's a good sign. Out of surprise, it has quite a few name brand items. Pricing for T-shirt is about $8+, lots of good shoes, used, of course. And plenty of fitting rooms. I might come back again , hopefully by then they've cleaned up the front.

I brought in a ton of clothes (see photo). I didn’t expect them to take everything of course, but they only purchased 4 items for $15. Not worth the hour drive from LA. But the store looked nice and organized (I didn’t shop there). I’ve had friends have such good luck selling at Platos Closet in other cities, so maybe it’s just the area. But wasn’t a good experience for me.

I have been coming here for around 10 years and ever since COVID it's been really mid. All of their stuff now is ROMWE, Shien, and forever 21. Polyester and poor quality as far as the eye can see. If you are looking for a fun outfit to wear once, before the polyester pilling kills it, you can buy it here for the same price as new. On par with Ross/Marshalls/TJ Maxx prices (around 7-8 for shirts, 14-20 for pants)It's also out of date with modern fashion by about two years, so I guess COVID got them or something. I used to recommend this to people as a good place for basics, and buffalo on second (RIP) for the fun, albeit pricier stuff. Without buffalo, and with Plato's being really for one fashion demographic now idk where to go for consignment lol :') ALSO their mens section SUCKS lolll it's so booooring. Sometimes they have cool shoes? And I know it's cus the people buying don't know anything about mens fashion, it looks like it all came from a Macy's catalog. And they have a Disney mens shirts section like as the biggest section???? Like wth 😭😭😭 and when I was looking in the men's Tees there were so many Disney shirts outside of that section. NO IDEA what's happening there? I guess it's only millennial guys who shop there?? I have had friends bring in some really cool men's pieces but they aren't standard menswear/Disney shirts so they didn't get bought. Such a shame. The people who work there are really nice though! They often are understaffed so you have to wait to get into the changing rooms. But thats managements problem. It used to be a really cool place though!!! So I really hope they can...

Buying from platos closet they have Good prices deals are good for some of the name brands that they do have, as for selling to Plato's closet (Hawaiian gardens) its basically a waste of time and pointless because they rarely do buy items even when its something that is specified on their list they claim its too "used" or "not teen style" and if and when they actually do buy something they give you almost nothing for it like an authentic coach wallet still in new condition practically brand new they only give you $5 bucks and they sell it for $35-$40 so its a ripoff unless you are in dire need of the money you'd be better off having a yard sale of selling your stuff on offer up or even eBay. They ask for brand new name brand stuff yet stuff they sell there isn't all name brands and some stuff the are selling has holes, or stained or the shoes some are worn down on the sole they're dirty but they wouldn't take a pair or Nike running shoes or coach shoes because they were too "worn" but they sell items that are much worse I just don't get it and the employees are super rude they take forever because they're too busy talking to each other about whats on Instagram or Facebook or whatever show they watched the night before the only good employee is the tall skinny guy that works there all the rest are just not helpful at all and they're just rude and disrespectful don't go in there with your girlfriend because they actually try to do childish stuff to get a reaction they're just rude disrespectful children who work at the Plato's closet in Hawaiian gardens just do yourselves a favor and GO...

I love Plato's Closet! I buy a lot of second hand clothes and trade a lot of clothes on consignment. I've shopped in every location in every city I've lived in. I've always had great experiences, traded lots of stuff, gotten good deals and received the best service. I wish they had locations in and around Los Angeles, unfortunately Long Beach is the closest to me. But this location? SUUUUUUUUUUCKS! Man, I drove an hour to get here, and they're closed, for no reason. Google says they're open, their hours on their website says they're open. There's a woman at the register, the lights are on, but, they're just ignoring everyone. Now, the staff at this store aren't the best, either. They're not the worst, but could be better. I get it, they're very young, and severely underpaid (because let's face it, no one in retail is paid what they should be for such soul sucking work). And they don't buy very many things at this location either, not compared to what I'm used to. And this is why I only come here about once or twice a year. Which is why I'm so incredibly annoyed that I drove aaaaaalll the way out here just to be completely denied my subpar shopping experience. My true recommendation is, don't waste your time coming here unless you live really close. But also you can find some good deals here, but be prepared to be annoyed...
