Balloon Land by JCC’s — Local services in Hawthorne

Ok I thought about giving this place 1 star but I'm going to be lenient and give it two stars. I "WAS" going to this place for YEARS, because its THE ONLY establishment in the area that I know of.... but let me tell you why I no longer like this place. For as long as I've been a customer at this place the lady that runs the place has NEVER really had any customer service skills in my personal opinion of course. BUT! I deal because like I said this is the only establishment for party supplies as such in the area. So one day my 9 year old son was having a melt down and lost his balloon. This reaction honestly came outta no where he has NEVER acted this way I had no idea where this was coming from but being the mother I am I drove to this place to get him a balloon. All I had literally was a dollar on me at the time (times are hard out here) so I gave him the dollar and told him and his older brother to go get him a replacement balloon any balloon for $1. They came bck out and said the lady didn't have a balloon for $1. Like really a plain balloon she couldn't sale to the kids for $1. Mind you she has A LOT of balloons all kinds. I spent soo much money in her establishment but never again. I'm sooo good! You can try if you want to but in my opinion if a person don't have a heart from a crying kid who just wants a balloon any balloon for $1.00 then they definitely not worth my time or money Period! Good...

It takes ALOT for me to leave a bad review. Mainly because I support small businesses, and I understand that sometimes there can be one bad employee, or one bad day. But this was not the case. I've never felt more ripped off in my life. First the tables we ordered that were supposed to seat 8-10 were CLEARLY 6-8 tops. But I quickly forgave that and moved on. My real issue was ordering a Balloon arch by a place called BALLOON LAND and getting NOTHING like what I ordered. I've attached a picture that was sent to me as an option of something that they claimed to have done for a girl baby shower. I thought it was beautiful, and asked for the exact same one, but only with blues instead of pinks for my boy baby shower. I was very specific that I didn't want a lot of dark blues, just a few accent pieces, and confirmed they had some clear ones with confetti to add. Then I specified, many times, in writing, that my husband is 6'5, and this is serving as the background for our photo booth, so it needs to be at least 7 feet tall. As you can see in the What I ordered (pink pic) vs. What I got (blue pic), it was no where near 7 feet tall. Her excuse? "Well, it's 7 feet long, so if i raise it to 7 feet tall it will come up off the ground." Her excuse for it not looking ANYTHING like what I ordered? My favorite. "I didn't know you wanted...

I’m giving only 4 stars & not five because the lady came 30 minutes late & didn’t call to say she was running late — When I’m paying for a service I expect communication & being on time! Her being late caused me to have to delay my time in getting ready . She was supposed to come at 2 & didn’t show up until 2:30 . I called at 2:30 & they said she was running late — next time just communicate that so I can plan to do other things. Why do I have to call past 30 mins asking where the balloon lady is?
