Eldorado steakhouse is the typical small town restaurant. It has more home feeling than big chain restaurants, but lacks the flare. From the outside, it looks more like a business office with overgrown bushes right our front, nothing that really catches the eyes and nothing that tells you what's happening on the inside. Once you get inside, the owners have done a nice job of setting up a good country atmosphere. I was impressed with what they were able to do in such a small space. However, there are no seating with windows so it can get a bit claustrophobic. The music that was playing wasn't too loud and set a nice tone. I ordered the mozzarella sticks as our appetizer. They seemed like the frozen ones you can get at Walmart and not Fresh made ones. They lacked any sort of flavor and the cheese part was really hard. A chef salad comes with your steak, not certain why it's the only option, but the salad was fresh, and they did provide plenty of salad dressing. The steak was the surprise of the night. Cooked perfectly, with great flavor and char. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the steak very much. However, the roll was another frozen item, and the mashed potatoes were bland. The service was also excellent, Bethanie did an outstanding job taking care of us, she brought the food out quickly, she knew the menu well and was always smiling and had great energy. Overall, not the best, but not the worst dining experience I've had.

My first visit was a great time. I had the lunch special with the hamburger steak, mash potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. The food was good and only waited maybe 10 minutes for the food.
The second visit I brought my girlfriend (pregnant) and was with my family. I ordered a pasta dish and it was so cold and tasted like Plato that I just couldn’t eat it. Her steak was so bloody that we had to get it back to the kitchen and our server left us mid service to tend to the bar. We also waited over 45 minutes for the food.
The third visit (01/12/23) i had dinner here. I ordered the 10 pc buffalo wings, mash potatoes and broccoli. The wings tasted old, the mash potatoes were bland and didn’t come with the gravy I ordered, and the broccoli had no seasoning. We also waited 48 minutes for the food to come out and the restaurant wasn’t full.
A couple hours later that night I had to leave work early because I was in the bathroom on the toilet and throwing up at the same time for hours. I had to take the day off because of the non stop sickness.
Overall this is not a restaurant I would refer people to or even want to go back to. I would prefer to go to the Front Porch Grill where they care about customer service...
Read moreAwesome local steak house. Casual dinning atmosphere, with excellent food. The staff was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The filet my wife and I had was very high quality meat. I would expect to pay around $30 a pound at a gourmet butcher shop to reproduce this steak at home. They actually cook a true rare steak! The bleu cheese dressing tasted homemade and was excellent. The french fries were not greasy and were well seasoned. The fried okra was perfect. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have beer on tap, but Blue Moon in a bottle with a frosty mug is always a winner. The mixed vegetables were average--but not why you would eat here.
All in all, my family of 5 paid about $80 for dinner. This included a beer from the bar.
The bottom line is this is a local steak house favorite who understands what they do best--serve a high quality steak at a fair price! If you are on your way to the beach and value a good steak, it is worth the stop here rather than a big chain restaurant, you won't be disappointed. If you are more interested in line dancing servers, fancy wall decorations and trendy sides/appetizers, keep on going, Dothan has plenty of those...
