I ordered two pizzas and chicken alfredo to be picked up at 5:45 online. The drive thru lane was slow. When I got to the window I signed the receipt and the person did not come back to the window. After 5 minutes, now 5:50, I tapped on the window to get someones attention. Someone came over and I asked about my pizza. That person said brusquely that they were busy. I asked him if the three cars behind me might have pizza ready because I wanted to be thoughtful of the other customers. He said that I can pull up and wait for mine. The cars behind me picked up their orders. It is now 6:00 and I decide to go inside to check the status of my order. The same guy, Logan, who is the shift leader looks at me. I ask if they had forgotten my order. He addressed me that no, they didn't forget my order, and they were waiting for my bread sticks that should be out in 7 minutes! I asked if the other food was under a heat lamp. Logan told me that they were not under a heat lamp. I then asked him if they were going to give me any discount for receiving cold pizza and he abruptly told me that he would refund my money. I explained that my family planned on this meal and were expecting it. He told me that I could have him remake everything and it would be an additional 40 minutes, or he could put the pizzas/casserole under a heat lamp while the breadsticks are being made and I could have dried up food, or I could just get refunded the money I had paid. Not once did he apologize for the delay, or speak to me, the customer, with kindness or respect. I told him that I shouldn't be expected to pay full price for cold food. I didn't like any of the choices that he gave me, and honestly who would. I told him that I wanted the money refunded. After he refunded the money, he threw the pizza in the trash and told me that I could purchase food from another vendor in town! I've been ordering weekly from this Pizza Hut in Headland since I moved here and have always been treated nicely with pizza hot and fresh. If I would have been spoken to, and treated appropriately, I would have been able to overlook the extra time needed for their obvious malfunction. It is more expensive to a company to mistreat a customer than do right by the customer and have them for life. There is absolutely no reason to attempt to order pizza from this Pizza Hut again. I also unfortunately witnessed several employees (including the ones putting toppings on pizzas) not using gloves, touching their faces while also putting toppings on the pizza. Only commenting because that is definitely something that needs to be addressed. However, with that said I want to say what I enjoyed from my experience, and that is our interactions with the employee named Zackary (spelling?). He was amazing and very tentative. He went above and beyond, and although the establishment was low on just about everything he went out of his way to professionally handle the situation, and explained everything very well. Everything we kept trying to do with these guys to buy dinner wasnāt working. They had a special, but they were out of those size pans. Oh, no tea. Soft drinks only. Order here and weāll tell you when to come get it. Would you like to leave us a tip? And on. And on. We were⦠not impressed.
We waved goodbye, drove down the road and had an excellent meal elsewhere.
