After renting a brand new KB home I’m completely turned off of ever buying a KB home especially in Inspirada. My impression, overpriced cookie cutter homes built with cheap labor like many of the homes you see in Henderson and Las Vegas. I’ve never seen so many outdated ugly homes filled with so much tile flooring and funky carpet, but that’s another subject. If you’re buying KB, be sure to inspect your home thoroughly before renting it out. The rental I moved into didn’t even have dishwasher hoses connected properly, and there was water everywhere upon initial use. Also, the floors on the second level creeked horribly. That’s unacceptable for a brand new house. There were a list of other issues. Also, the home lacked windows downstairs. Just two little tiny windows in the living room, and a sliding glass door. During the day, the living room was completely dark like night, unless you opened patio blinds. The upstairs master bedroom had tiny windows and really no view. The home had a very small laundry room located inconveniently downstairs. The layout of the home was boring and rather basic. In my opinion the home was overpriced. The owner paid around $400k. While I understand it’s the owners discretion when it comes to choosing flooring, I hated the tile flooring. Tile floors are just ugly. It’s a cheaper option but it also looks cheap. Wood or faux wood floors are a better option and makes the home look more complete. It may cost more, but it also adds more value.
Inspirada is boring. There’s not much to do in this area, but live in a house. For the price of these homes, you think it’d be a master planned Community. Nothing close. There is only one grocery store, Albertsons. If you need to do any shopping at target, Smith’s, or Walmart you’ll have to drive damn near 10 miles. If you want to order food, you won’t have many options. It would be nice to be able to walk to some good restaurants and dine outside on a beautiful evening. You won’t get to do that here. At first, I was excited about this area I thought that it was up-and-coming. Until I seen all the old properties down by Albertson’s that let me know that this area has been undeveloped for a long time. This area looks pretty when you drive through, but honestly it’s pretty boring. Summerlin is a distance away, but I have to admit it has way more to offer than Inspirada. Fully developed communities, better views, beautiful trees that turn golden in the fall, and they have real grass! Lol! Some may say Inspirada is a good place to raise a family. My kids are young adults now and have moved out on their own, but I can tell you if they were kids I wouldn’t even want to raise them here. Well, this is only my opinion and my views of Inspirada and KB homes. I’m glad I had the opportunity of renting a KB home and living in the Inspirada community. I thought I wanted to buy a home in this area but after living here for a year, I’ve realized...
Read moreSpeaking in regards to the customer service department for warranty services: I called two weeks in advance to have dry wall repair at my home on a day I had off work. They restrict you to being able to come between an 8-12 and 1-4 window. They did not return my call for two weeks and then said it was too late for an appointment to be schedule that day. I then rescheduled for the last day I had off until January and confirmed the appointment with a staff member prior to the scheduled appointment time. Then...no one showed up! I was waiting around the house all day!! When I texted the staff member, he said “Oh sorry, can we reschedule?” I contacted the customer service line...I always get the voicemail, and left a message to speak with a manager. I had a voicemail on my phone the next day, called back three times, but no answer. Needless to say...I’ll fix the...
Read moreWe bought our new KB home just three months ago and have had a great experience. Like any new home there are things that need to be fixed or worked on. What has made all the difference is been having a year warranty to submit claims to and having these little things resolved. Our customer service representative Carlos Contreras has gone above in beyond in all our requests. He has been kind, professional and great at following up with us to keep us informed. I hope he gets a fat promotion or bonus. Outside of Carlos everyone we've worked with his been consistently great and we're impressed. We would definitely...
