Had an incredibly frustrating experience at "Back on Track Resale Store" today. My husband and I have been to this store multiple times and have previously seen tents and camping gear in the "man cave" section. On today's visit, they had a 75% off promotion for "man cave" items. My husband was thrilled to find a kerosene cooker (typically $159) priced at $139 in that section. Imagine our surprise when, at the counter, we were told it was a "seasonal" item and thus not eligible for the discount, despite it being placed amongst the qualifying items! When I questioned the "seasonal" label, mentioning that people do camp in winter, the staff retorted with "no one I know camps in the winter." We left feeling misled and disappointed. Shoppers, be wary of confusing classifications and inconsistent sale policies...
Read moreStopped before I went to bring a trailer load of toys and they said they wanted it. I drive all the way over here with a trailer and they told me they can't take it. Wasted my time. I won't be back and I will tell everyone else not to waste their time.
Update: I took all of this stuff to another non profit and they couldn't believe you all refused it, with all the nice stuff I was giving away. The guy working in the back of Back on track didn't even bother to look at it, he said take it to the dump without looking at anything and it most certainly was not even close to trash, that was also very offensive and rude. I was excited to see a 75% off deal on man cave items, and was thrilled to find a kerosene cooking stove in this section. However, when I tried to checkout, I was told that the item wasn’t eligible for the discount because it was in the "wrong" area. This was particularly frustrating since I’ve seen other similar items, like kerosene heaters and outdoor cooking stoves, in the same section before. It's disappointing and quite misleading. As a business owner myself, I believe in clear communication and honoring what's presented to the customer. This experience has left a sour taste, and I hope they rectify such issues...
