Dairi-O of Hendersonville — Restaurant in North Carolina

Wowzers! If the black bean veggie burger is any indication of what to expect, I want to try the whole menu! It's not a veggie burger masquerading as meat, it is an explosion of flavor unto itself. My suspiciouns are that to fully take advantage of what this place has to offer, one must leave all preconceptions behind.

We would this place by accident on our way to Greensboro, NC, looking for a pit stop. The sign with a list of restaurants drew us off the highway, and passing fast food joints one after another with short lines, I aimed for, but missed the Arby's and landed in The Dairi-O parking lot. Simultaneously, my wife and I both exclaimed, "Wow, this place is crowded." to which I responded. Must be serendipity, a place this crowded must have something to be this busy.

As we watched, the number of people moving through two lane order line, leaving and coming in and out of the restaurant was such a well coordianted and orchestrated activity, it was like watching a ballet. The same, once we went in. Even ordering was an experience. There was no line, but at least seven people behind the order counter. When we got within a couple feet of the counter, two registers were filled with someone waiting to take our order. After ordering, we looked at the activity everywhere for a couple minutes when our order was ready to pick up. Fast, fast!

We were taking it to go; but, I said, let me have a bite first. After opening the black bean veggie burger, my mouth was bedazzled with flavor. I said, "You must take a bite!" She did, and I did until it was gone, then we looke at each other and said, "We're coming back on our way home!"

We do not know if It's always like this or we stopped at an unusual time; but, when it appears that half the town is eating at one place... that alone makes it worth a try. I need say nothing else! Spent 10min waiting in drive thru for a clerk to greet us at 10:30am and no response. Went inside to see a total of 6 customers. Not busy at all. Honestly, it’s very clean and looks great, but I think you should leave the worship music out. Cater to everyone. Mostly we weren’t happy with the service. Took 15 min to receive 1 Big Foot Dog and an iceberg wedge. Where is the wedge? And when I ordered the Big Foot Dog I ordered it all the way. There are signs everywhere in that place depicting this hotdog and what it means to get it all the way. Full description. It did not come at all the way it was described it came with chili, yellow mustard, chopped onion and Cole slaw. So I brought it to the attention of the counter clerk and showed them the sign right in front of them showing the description of the Big foot dog. They said no problem we will make a new one. Well, the second Big Foot Dog came out and it was exactly the same and did not fit the description stated on the ad and again had chili, yellow mustard, chopped onion and Cole slaw. I posted my original review shortly after Dairi-O opened. I'm updating now because they have a new manager and we frequently go to Dairi-O. The food is great and a fair price. It appears to be clean (besides the cashiers constantly rubbing their mouth/nose/eyes). You do have to double check your order, because more often then not, they ring it up incorrectly, often missing entire items. At least they correct it now when they make a mistake!!!!

ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: We ordered one burger "the Dairi-o way", one with only cheese & ketchup, and another with cheese, ketchup & lettuce. They gave us 3 "the Dairi-o way". So my son took two in to get them fixed, but Dairi-O manager refused to fix more than one. So one person was stuck with tomato, onion, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles on his burger - none of which he likes.
