Bistro 127 Catering — Local services in Hickory

My wife and I really enjoy going to Bistro 127 because the food is great and the drink selection is also nice. They have some really nice specials (such as half priced wines) and a daylight donut is a tasty, cheap dessert if you have racked up a large bill on your entrees and drinks. On the negative side, I have had some of the most frustrating experiences with service here, more-so than pretty much anywhere else I have been in the area. It doesn't seem to matter whether you are there for breakfast or dinner, the service is very spotty - great at times, and horrible at others. We were there for breakfast for over an hour one Saturday morning (not by choice - just slow service) and I never received a single refill on my coffee, despite being assured a number of times that a refill was coming. I was searching for restaurants with gluten free menu options as I recently found out that i had an intolerance to gluten. Bistro 127 had high ratings and great reviews so my husband and I decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed! The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable and the wait staff was especially kind and accommodating. Our waitress spent a considerable amount of time explaining what menu options I had and recommended a great meal for me. We arrived for lunch around 1:30. Did not feel overly welcome. Our server not very friendly. I ordered an old fashioned. The server called for someone to make drink. She brought the wine my companion ordered. She came back after with my drink. I looked at she was like what? I said this is not old fashioned. It was bourbon with an orange slice. Noting else. She said you don't want it. I said its not what I ordered. No offer for something no apology nothing. She then said we don't have bartender till 4. We left.
