Worst shoe shopping experience I've ever had. I went in looking for a men's 8849 in a size 7, and specifically said I wanted Black Prairie leather. I spent the entire time there reiterating that I was looking for a man's shoe, and the first salesman I talked with kept going in the back and getting different women's shoes that I could try on, and the second saleman tried to convince me all black leather is the same. Like, no, for the millionth time, I know for a fact Red Wing doesn't make women's shoes with teacore leather, I'm not gonna buy these other black shoes I don't want no matter how often you say your wife has and loves them!
I gave up, and asked if they had men's sizes I could try on -- I thought maybe I can at least find my Red Wing size and order online. Nope, apparently they don't have ANY men's boots in 7.5 I could try on. Salesman #2 said maybe the Beaverton store has them, and so Salesman #1 called Beaverton and asked if they have any black classic mocs in women's size 8.5 -- even though, in an attempt to play along to be polite, I'd just minutes ago tried on the women's boot sizes they insisted on bringing out and discovered I was a 9 women's.
Although I'm a butch-looking lesbian, I look fairly conservative for a member of the gay community. I'm not offensive or "in-your-face" in my appearance. I think I'm more understanding than I should be of people treating me differently due to whatever beliefs they have. But my experience with this store was beyond exasperating and really tested my patience and politeness. Seriously, if you are obviously queer at all DON'T GO HERE, they will waste your time and openly refuse to sell you what you want.
Two stars bc they have that cool machine you stand on to figure out your shoe size in Red Wings -- it's how I figured out I'm a Red Wing 7.5 men's/9 women's when I'm a men's 7/women's 8.5 in...
Read moreWalked in and was the only customer in the store, one of the employees was on the phone and went in the back to get another to assist us. He came out and didnât say a word just stood there and watched me browse. When I asked if he could check for my size in a boot I liked his response was âdo you want to get measuredâ like he had never heard of anyone wearing a size 13-14 shoe before. When I said I was sure I knew what size I was, he doubled down and said âwell feet changeâ. Iâm 23 years old my shoe size hasnât changed since I was 16. When I did get my size, he stood there and watched me lace it up and when I got up to walk around he insisted that it was too big, it felt perfectly fine and I was about to buy them before he kneeled down and squeezed my foot and said âyea man youâre not a 13-14â. I got up and said have a nice day and left before I said anything Iâd regret, and went to the Beaverton location 15 minutes down the road where I had an amazing employee help me find the perfect pair of work boots (guess what, in a size 13). They sell an amazing high quality product but this particular employee was so arrogant and rude when literally all I was trying to do was buy a pair of...
Read moreRedwing boots are not what they used to be. This is not a review of the actual boots but a review of this store off of Imbrie Dr in Hillsboro Oregon. Redwind boots are popular because the quality and customer service. This store individually has crapped all over the Red Wing name. This is the only store in the area that is individually franchised, an independent owner he and does not hold the same standards and every other store in the area. I tell every Ironworker i can to not buy Redwing because of that store. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Redwing store but this one. If i could give no stars i would. Beware of this store!!! The buying process is great but the warranty process is a joke. I have bought multiple boots from here. The stitching ripped. There was a gash in the boots so they would not replace them. The kid there said that it looked like i cut the stitching. He said that he would send them out to have them restitched. He wrote my name and number down. they never did anything with them. I had those boots for 2 months⌠go literally to any...
