Savage City Strength — Local services in Hillsborough Township

After being made aware of it several months ago I finally had the opportunity to visit Savage City Strength just this past Monday. Located in Hillsborough, NJ it is THE place to go for all of your Powerlifting, Strongman, Olympic Weightlifting AND Brazilian Jujitsu needs. It's is the only serious gym in an area surrounded by commercial gyms which, as you can see in my pictures, includes tires that go all the way up to more than 600lbs, three squat racks, two platforms, multi colored Olympic style bumper plates and a wide selection of different kinds of specialty bars. Shawn, the owner, calls himself a "strength enthusiast" and it's been made clear to me that he lives and breathes all things strength sports. He also tries to hold events, mostly for charity, in the area every few months or so and will even be hosting the Special Olympics at his gym in August. So if you're in Central Jersey and all looking for a serious, hardcore gym, run by someone with a passion for what we stand for at an alarmingly low price, you must go to Savage City...

Shawn is the real deal. I don't know many specialty gyms in Jersey that offer Strongman equipment, Powerlifing and Olympic Weightlifting equipment all for just $30 a month, as well as a package deal of the gym plus Brazilian Jujitsu for just $100 a month. Shawn's gym has not just Atlas stones, but multiple tires for flipping, a yoke bar, a sledge hammer and even kegs! I said this in my review of Apollon Gym last year; but if I lived in or near Hillsborough this place would be my home gym...
