Downgrading to 1 star (0 if I could) as they left me a distasteful voicemail that they will be retracting the minimal $60 discount to an over $500 bill due to my honest review (despite still not resolving the issue as they still sent broken chairs and failed to inspect them before delivery, and thought it did deserve more due to all the mishaps). It was extremely unprofessional. If they valued customer service, instead of leaving me a distasteful voicemail saying they will charge me (for a service they failed on again after trying to resolve the issue), they would have asked what they could to make things satisfactory in order for me to remove my review.
Would give a 2 because they did semi-fix the mistakes, but overall it did add a lot of stress before and during our event. I ordered 80 resin chairs for my baby shower. We did get a 3 hour window on when the items would be delivered, but no heads up of when they were on the way so I could receive them, which was being delivered at our venue as most companies give a courtesy call. Upon arriving at the venue after they were delivered, we noticed that the chairs were very muddy. We don’t expect them to be perfect, but they were extremely dirty where we spent over an hour, hour and a half wiping them clean. When counting the chairs, we also noticed we were 7 short that we weren’t notified up front that they would be delivered the next day until we placed a phone call. I used a chair myself day before the event for set up and it was completely broken and collapsing. It had no screws in it which could have ended badly. We decided to inspect the rest of the chairs and noticed 6 were broken and no screws. Again, could have been really dangerous for our guests. They did send 13 chairs the next day, but two were still broken. Read moreI am writing this review in hopes that someone will reach out to me. I rented some chairs back on 5/10/24. At the time, I asked the person that I was working with on what would happen if I needed to cancel. I live in Texas and knew there was a possibility that we may not make it to NJ to host the party. The gentleman said - "no worries, as long as cancel with enough notice - at least 2-3 weeks before, it should not be an issue since that is a busy weekend and we can just rent it to someone else." So, I made the deposit payment. Fast forward a week or so later, and I needed to cancel since we were not going to make it to NJ. I called and spoke to someone that said they don't offer refunds, I could just take a credit. I explained that I lived out of state and a credit would not work. He said he would talk the manager and they would take care of it. Fast forward to this week, I checked my credit card account and didn't see a refund so I called again. This time, the guy that picked up listened to my story and then laughed at me and said "well, the new guy probably told you that and he was wrong and you signed a contract so we can't help you." I asked to speak to the manager and he took my information and said he would have the manager call me. It has been 2 days and no one has called. Even if it was the new guy that misinformed me, they should stand by what he said. I have to stand by whatever my employees say to my customers. Also, everyone else that I had booked something with for our event provided a refund on the deposit since I canceled more than a month out. Read moreAlan from above all rentals was very accommodating for our backyard party, and I’d recommend them for anyone who’s looking for outdoor party rentals. They had allowed us to add on or remove items until the last minute, including heaters, string lights, food serving tables and different-colored linens.
Then, when we had an unfortunate realization of wasps, I made the very unusual request to move the tent just two days before our event and after the first tent had already been assembled. I was prepared to eat the cost of the original tent and not have shade for our new location, however Alan was very quick to assess his team’s availability and found a way to accommodate despite it being a very busy holiday weekend. Ultimately we had two tents set up in two separate locations, both with string lights and tables, one of which was set up the day before first thing in the morning. We ended up having a perfect backyard party with much needed shade, and the only challenge was a quick message to guests to make sure they went to the right house.
I couldn’t believe that Alan was able to provide an additional tent on such short notice and was so understanding of our situation as the original location was a safety concern, he didn’t make us pay the full amount again! Above all rentals truly went above and beyond to meet my party needs, and I’m so grateful for it.
