I've got nothing but great things to say about this place. I started here about 6-7 years ago when I was a freshman in high school, and I thought I was all that until I walked into this place. Before I came here I had previously studied at a studio where teachers would often do the work for the students instead of teaching them skills to be successful on their own. Kevin does the opposite of that, and teaches students how to problem solve and overcome obstacles on their own. Kevin is the kindest, most knowledgeable person and teacher I've ever met. His teaching and curriculum have completely changed the way I see and do art, and I definitely would not be anywhere close to where I am today if it were not from him.

It’s a pleasure to post a review of The Art Academy and its President Kevin Murphy. Kevin is a world-class portrait artist, but beyond that he is a great teacher. I have seen many examples of Kevin’s work, most recently a life-size portrait of my friend Hubert Delany and his wife Maggie. The images are spot-on and reveal much of what I know to be Hubert and Maggie’s inner life, as well as the handsome and beautiful people I know. I am also familiar with the work of several of Kevin students, and have been exposed most recently to the work of Daniel Folta. Although not yet graduated, Daniel’s work is already arresting when dealing with characters from Greek mythology, and revealing of the personality and character of portrait sitters. My son has been with Kevin for more than 4 years, he enjoyed Kevin's art classes and summer enhancement programs so much. Kevin has a wonderful set of education approach and unique techniques for his students. My son learned through all his studies from basic to advanced level, he came up with two stunning big- sized master pieces, one of his art got into ARC international competition finalist. He is a high school senior now, with his art portfolio which contains some great art work that he did with Kevin, he was accepted by a few top art & design schools and was offered 88-100K scholarship. Studying at Art Academy is a really good return on investment, the smaller total cost to be trained in exchange for the bigger scholarship. My son is very happy and proud of it.
