Checkers — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

Went there night of April 16th to pickup 2 postmates orders. Waited approx 30 mins to get to window in left lane. There was one car in front of me when I got there. At that point I had come to the conclusion that they were being painfully slow. Drive thru wasn't busy, only one walk up customer, etc. Once I finally got my order, I pulled ahead, and checked. Found it was only one order. Pulled back around, to find three or four cars waiting in the left delivery pickup lane. I had my wife stay in drive thru, and I walked up to the order window for walk ups to clear it up, and hopefully get the second order before the first orders food got cold, and drinks warm. I stood at that window, staring in, waiting for anyone to come help me, only got glances and quickly look away. Finally got second order.. About 45 minutes later, after already waiting 45 mins. I have always dismissed postmates orders from this checkers since. By the time the customer gets their mediocre food, they aren't happy, and tend not to tip well at all. I no longer will eat at any checkers myself as well. While waiting, watched employees wipe faces, use register, etc, while preparing food. Was very uncomfortable to watch. May only be this location, but it was very unforgetable. Have never heard back from management or PR after complaining. These actions seem to be their S.O.P. Kinda sad, I have enjoyed many chili cheese fries...

I stopped at Checkers out of desperation and starvation. I'd been driving all day and impulsively got off the highway in Daytona Beach FL to look for a place to eat. It was close to 9 pm in February during the pandemic so my choices were limited. I drove around for about 1/2 hr before stopping at Checkers. I had a 250 miles to go and Checkers was the only restaurant open that I found that wasn't either a "fern bar", an hour plus several courses or a complete dump. Checkers is, IMHO, a little bit of a greasy spoon. But it's a chain so the spoons are standardized and that seems good. I'm not a fan of hamburgers or fried chicken sandwiches and those were my only choices for eating and driving. It filled my empty stomach for about $10 and since it's a drive through only restaurant, Covid concerns were minimized. Overall, a quick sandwich for a reasonable price can be purchased at Checkers and this particular location had friendly, patient and helpful staff to endure my extended decision making process. Unfortunately the milk shake machine was broken and that was a big disappointment for me since I was looking forward to a vanilla milk shake. When everything is in working order, this is a good place to bring children and non-discriminating...

So I'm delivery driver and this place use to be good like on isb and gets u out fast with in 20 Mins ok so tonight they had both lanes open delivery open 4 cars behind I was ok waited then waited again ! It nearly a hour after sitting I'm front of drive threw window I keep waving n waving to get there attention they refuse !!! Also few guys in there just sat around and ate food n talked and not caring about the delivery drivers this sad yet people want money right? You have. Job !!!! Do it ! Stop being lazy u don't like it move on ! It ain't hard ! Fast food is fast not a hour waiting Jesus christ who hires these people ?? They wonder why there pay is so low cause there lazy ! If I was manager or district manager I fire them all keep this place closed till a real crew can do there job properly !!! Checkers stop hiring lazy and hire people that want to earn a living at least! Any job I've done I worked it ! Also yelling n screaming at me btw these people are rude n need to be fired immediately!...
