Decided to stop by this shop for the first time as I was in the area and saw that it had a high rating. I was hoping to pick up a few MTG cards that I needed for some of my decks. I will say it was the most awkward and uncomfortable experience I have ever had in any store. I was greeted by a lady as I approached the counter. I told her I was looking for some specific cards for my decks and proceeded to show her pics of the cards I was referring to. She stated that she had one of the cards and that it would be a certain box which would be right behind the counter. When she turned around to get the box, she stated that she couldn't find it and that it should be right there. She then started to to get all emotional and even started to cry because she couldn't find the box. That just made the situation uncomfortable. It was no big deal to me that she didn't have the card so I don't understand why she was crying. Then I showed her some other cards I was looking for and she then proceeded to get a bow where that specific card would be. I found that card and then told her I was looking for 2 other cards. She stated she wouldn't have one of them as it cost 10 dollars and it would be in the displayed in the glass case counter. She then said she would need to go pull the box where the other card might be. She started to walk away but then stopped just a few steps away and started crying again over not being able to find the first card. She then dropped to the floor behind the counter in a fetal position and kept crying over the situation for about 30 seconds. That just made the whole experience super awkward. To add to it, this was done while there were other customers standing at the counter and other customers in the shop. The whole experience was just very strange and unprofessional. At that point I just left the card I pulled on the counter and decided to just leave. Definitely will not...
Read moreI originally went in the store with friends and was greeted by an older woman, she was so kind and negotiated fair prices as we would ask questions. She said we could spin a wheel or a free card if we left a five star review, this explains why this store has so many. That first experience was the one and only good thing I can say about this store. Every other time we have gone in staff members are either playing games with close friends which upon entry would create a very uninviting atmosphere when they all look up and stare and than realize that we are there to be serviced. Or on the other hand overselling pitches for extremely overpriced merchandise similar to that of scalpers online. I asked why they were overcharging so much for these sets/ ungraded singles instead of retail and the basic answer was to deter scalpers. So in my eyes they cut out the middle man and their whole store overprices stuff they either over payed for or belief they can get people to be desperate enough to spend 70$ on 2 packs of cards. The main clerk I have dealt with has copped an attitude in defense of their predatory business tactics because she believes she is right, they also do not limit 1 or 2 items per customer upon new release meaning they support scalping when it means they also benefit from these hiked up prices. The last time I went in, I expected nothing and was still disappointed by an ungraded card being set to over 100$ when they go for 20ish dollars. The explanation is that they sell for what they buy them at which do not believe as that is not a smart business practice. 0/10 atmosphere, 0/10 service standards and 0/10 on their overpriced merch. As a person who collects cards as a fun hobby with my partner they tarnish other family friendly card...
Read moreI was in the neighborhood and decided to stop off and see the local MTG shops. Left this one for last since it closes at 12 mid. I arrived around 10pm and the place was empty. Thinking here's another basic shop, but let's see what they have. Walked into the store to find the staff closing early. Can't blame them since no one was there but us. The young lady behind the desk said she was getting ready to close but that we could look around till then. So we did, expecting to get the basic treatment as we did at the other shops nearby. She asked us what we were looking for and if she could be of any assistance? She made small talk while engaging our interests. Told us of all their inventory and even showed us a few large boxes of inventory. We knew they were ready to go home, we understood that feeling on a very slow night. Not complaining about the early closing but commending her actions of exceeding our personal interests. We are from Orlando and I will be back once I have organized my decks. I am amazed that the locals were not taking advantage of what this place has to offer?! Thanks for the great pricing on the cards I got. I will be back soon with the squad. You can bet on that! Thanks for the great service....it didn't go...
