Azama located on 10th Avenue is a "hole in the wall" store. The smell of old fish blood is strong and the store is old and it's indoor decor outdated BUT I'm not too worried about the decor! The dry aku is the best I've tasted throughout the islands and yes - everyone's taste buds are different - but for me - Azama dry aku is ON MARK! Currently, it's $31.99 a pound. I usually will pre-order once we arrive on Oahu. The owner has alot of stories about his earlier years. I enjoy listening to his stories too. Parking is scarce and traffic along 10th Avenue is heavy. We always try to stop by to buy dry aku to enjoy while on Oahu and to take home to the Big Island!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First time I came here, I grabbed 1 pound of their dry aku and it instantly brought me back to my childhood days when my dad used to buy the thick sticks from Ward Farmers Market near Ala Moana. So ono and nostalgic! I just went back today and picked up 4 more pounds to take home because it was THAT good. The flavor is perfect — salty, smoky, chewy — just how I remember it. If you grew up in Hawaiʻi, this will definitely bring back memories. Mahalo Azama K Fish Wholesale for keeping the old school taste alive! 🤙🏽🐟

I came before for dried aku and thought it was too dry. Well, it turns out that some people like firmer, drier aku, while others, like me, prefer softer aku, according to my cousin. After telling the sales person that I preferred softer aku, he hooked me up with dried aku that was just perfect for me. My cousin said the firmer ones go...
