Loco Moco Drive Inn — Restaurant in Honolulu

Only rating food since I ordered online. The description and price for the "loco moco" item menu is completely misleading. Price says $13, 2 eggs, 2 hamburger steaks, and macaroni salad, all over rice. The default choice is a mini size, and "regular" size is an extra $6.00. JUST CHARGE $19 FOR THE REGULAR. Just greedy businesses being greedy businesses... Drink was regular size, can't mess that up so no complaints.

Anyways, on to the actual food. Unlike the order description, this only came with 1 egg and 1 hamburger steak, outstanding. Must be because I ordered the default mini size... Nice play on words but whatever. I never complain about the portion of rice, there was about 500 grams worth, so very nice! I am very peculiar about rice, this wasn't burned or kept heated too long, or long grained rice prepared like short grained rice, it was fresh and delicious. Only reason this isn't 1 star. The egg however, I ordered over medium, and it came out completely wet and undercooked. Much more undercooked than over easy, messy goop of an egg. Whatever, I still ate it just to try it out. Over all bland egg. The hamburger steak was actually just a hamburger patty.... Over all terribly cooked, blank, and no seasoning. The gravy made this entire dish edible. Rant over.

TL:DR not what I ordered, cooked wrong, and grossly misleading item descriptions. Not for me.

If you are returning from the beach, need a quick bite to eat, or a dnack while shopping this would be your place as their menu is extensive of many options to choose from. The Seasoned Fries are probably the best thing they have here. Santitation is a big issue, if you can see it from being 3rd in line its bad. Ive had a couple friends get sick from this restaraunt and most likely from cross contamination. Dishes ordered that people got sick Loco Moco Chicken Katsu My order was checked and packed by an employee who using the same gloves she mopped the floors and cleaned the tables with. Basic food Handling, gloves are for ready made foods only. Other than that you should have bare hands that are washed and cleaned appropriately. Almost every neighborhood in Oahu has at least one diner, usually an L&L and at least one other. Loco Moco is the best dinrr/drive in in Hawaii Kai. They offer a range of plate lunch specials, as well as a few breakfast items, an also have a bubble tea shop on site. Mochiko chicken is probably their best option, but the shrimp fried rice and mushroom chicken are also very good, and the pork adobo is worth a try. Plate lunches usually come with white rice and Mac salad, but you can substitute for brown rice, no Mac salad, or no sides at all. Service is very quick. Plenty of parking available.
