I truly like 👍 Rausaurs! Great place to shop in the gorge. Their bakery has their famous Swedish Fruit Cookies with butter, coconut, and raisins - they are so moist and fresh, they melt in your mouth. I took them to a picnic gathering this past August! The group would easily have eaten 10 - 12 more packages. I have never taken a dessert any where, when it has been so popular, and especially considering all the food available. Their bakery also makes the best oatmeal-raisin cookies, but not any better than their Maple 🍁 Bars. Their apple fritter donuts are absolutely heavenly! Yet, their Artisan breads🍞 certainly don't take a back seat; best ones are: roasted-garlic, rosemary olive, and sourdough. Yum! Still, their English muffin bread may be their best. Try any of these for a real treat! Don't leave the bakery before realizing that their cakes 🎂🍰 are made from scratch. They are the best 💯👍; everyone in that area gets their cakes 🎂 there. Also, they boast a deli, second to none! Try their: oven-roasted turkey - moist and fresh - or their delicious kale-qiinoa salad, or their hot 😍☕♨🔥 chicken noodle soup, or their famous chicken 🐓 enchiladas! They also have a light 💡 and convient inside area to relax and sit down to enjoy lunch - it is conviently set apart from the hustle and bustle of the shoppers, so a quiet, pleasant conversation can be enjoyed with a friend. They have everything you'll need right there, plates, seasonings, etc. They have an excellent meat department, where you can have whatever you desire cut immediately and ready to go. Their staff members are upbeat and helpful - friendly and outgoing! Finally, Rosauer's has a special area inside their store, called: the Huckleberry section; it is a health food store. Whatever you're looking 👀 for health-food wise, you'll find it there! They have a small area of bulk food bins, a huge selection of fresh fruits 🍎🍉🍊🍌 and veggies! It is always spotlessly clean, and they have everything you could ever go to the grocery store for - plus, they have multiple checkout lanes, so you can be done in no time ⌚⏳. I came in 12/10/21 at about 5 minutes to closing. I had just picked up my sleeping kids from their mom in The Dalles and was heading home to Scappoose (just over an hour drive). I forgot to grab the lactose-free milk from their fridge- and my daughter had woke up "NEEDING" a bottle. After I got a couple odd looks, and an announcement over the loudspeaker that seemed directed at me (considering I was the only shopper in the store) I found my way to what I needed. When i got to the register I was greeted VERY kindly by the clerk and bagger. The clerk made friendly small-talk and showed concern for me as a parent with a grumpy child and the "long" drive in the driving rain I had ahead of me. The bagger chatted with my 5yo., who was also grumpy after being woke up to head into the store. He even made him smile. I left not nearly as disgruntled as I was when I got there. Best place to shop for everything on your list! Every store in town tries to match Rosaurs. Fine in store bakery every day fresh deli. Best looking meats in the gorge. Excellent bulk foods section, including bulk seasoning and drinks. Large boxed health" food section. Reasonable prices for the area. Friendly staff. Very good handicapped access in store and plentiful parking lot! In this complex is also a Dollar Store, some clothing shops, hair salon, Laundromat, mailing stop, Poppa murphys pizza, Walgreen's, too!
