I would give no stars, but that is not an option....My overnight shipment of frozen salmon went from Hood River at 4pm PST to Louisville, Kentucky at 1:30 am. This was great, since the destination was Bloomfield, IN, only 2 hours away. As near as anyone can tell me, at that point everything went wrong. From what they told me the package that had been shipped across the country with an acceptable 4.2 pounds of dry ice inside was there determined to be hazardous and marked for return to sender. I called the store after the package was not delivered at 10 am either PST or CST time. They said they would find it and get it out. A couple hours later I called back and was told it should be out for delivery soon. At 4 pm PST, I checked the tracking again, and it said the package was being returned to sender. I called the store again, and was told the package would be delivered tomorrow. I asked if the recipient could just pick it up from wherever it was. They said they would find out and call me back. I never got a return call. Today I spoke with a different clerk, and they said the package might still be in Louisville, so the recipient should expect it. A couple hours later I again asked what the status was, and the clerk said he had talked to Bloomfield, but they wouldn't know until 12:30 PST. I asked if he could call them again right now, which he did. He found out the package was actually in The Dalles and due to be back at the store I shipped it from at 1130. Finally at 12:30 they called and said the package was there. I picked it up, and although most of the salmon was thawed, it was not unsavable, although the 2 trips cross country certainly did not add anything for it's quality. I was refunded my cost for the shipment, but informed that no compensation beyond that was possible. I am at a loss as to how this could occur. If the shipment was hazardous, why was it flown back to me? Shouldn't it then have been required to be transported by ground? Why or how could someone determine that the shipment was hazardous after it had already been flown from Hood River to Louisville? I worry what actual hazardous materials may be shipped on UPS flights... Why couldn't the store find out exactly where it was and have it delivered from Louisville to Bloomington in the 12 hours it supposedly was in Louisville? I hope that I win the $250 for providing this review, because that would appease my irritation for the time that I and the recipient had to spend trying to get the UPS store and UPS in general to do their job. I won't bother to call ever again, as the response and action or lack there of, was worse by calling than actually going to the store. It seemed like the moment it was discovered the shipment wasn't going to be delivered on time, there was very little effort or concern about resolving the issue and delivering the package. To send the package back across country, rather than deliver it is ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in the store, the clerks and UPS in general. Tracking numbers were: 1ZE73A471572794746 and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStole from me ??? After laying my great aunt to rest we had a few small family heirlooms we needed shipped home. It had been a rough three days. We had some picture albums and some frame photos, an American flag that was my uncle's when he passed away. My aunt had left some small trinkets in the form of jewelry for my daughter. It wasn't expensive jewelry by any means most of it was costume there was a couple of very small diamond earrings and a small diamond pendant but for the most part it was all costume jewelry. The folks at the UPS store helped us package everything up and it was sent via ground. Unfortunately when the box got home there was one thing missing. The bag that held the jewelry. We called the store knowing that there's probably nothing they could or would do about the situation and that what's been done is done. It's not the fact that it was worth all that much, it's that some family heirlooms have probably been hocked off for a couple hundred bucks.
I take full responsibility in the fact that I should have kept those items with me. And my complacency in not being more diligent to the depravity our society has come to is my downfall.
Obviously I can't in good conscience recommend you use The UPS Store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a document notarized at the USP store in Hood River. There were many pages in each document and both copies were out of order. Brad took each document, sorted them out, very patiently, and then review the language to ensure we were signing in the correct locations. He even search the web to ensure the terms in the document were consistent with our understanding. After filling out all the documents and notarizing, Brad went thru the documents a 3rd time to ensure everything was done properly.
I have sent many packages through UPS in Hood River and all experiencing have been excellent. The staff is efficient and sensitive to my cost and time. In one instances, I wanted to get a package to my customer ASAP. When I was surprised by the high cost of shipping this package, the USP worker gave me options they had as well as recommendations on other non-UPS ways it can be sent.
I very much appreciate when the store is very busy, I never have to wait more than a minute to be served. They work very fast to take care of each customer and they have always got mine shipping and packing done right the first time.
Thank you...
