El Cuate Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hood River

The torta here has no business being as amazing as it is. We stopped here on a whim while doing a road trip through Oregon. The wife and I split a chicken torta and it seriously was one of the best things we ate during our trip through the state. Good amount of meat, slight crisp/toast on the bread, and the beans/avocado/mayo other sides were super fresh and in exactly the right proportions.

Came here to get the fish tacos and the veggie tacos. Fish tacos were really good, veggie tacos were kind of meh. I would definitely recommend the fish tacos for anybody who is passing through here. The french fries were pretty good as well. The people who work here were very nice, the only downside of the restaurant really is that it's kind of not kept very clean in the dining area. El Cuate is a staple in my household. Lola’s chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich that money can buy. It snaps the taste buds into the present. If you ever wondered how to stop worrying, go consume this sandwich! The flavors are melded together perfectly! I always ask for extra chipotle mayo on the sandwich as well as on the side to eat with their house-cut French Fries! OMG…soooooo good!!!!
