Village Ace Home Center & Lumberyard — Local services in Hot Springs Village

My husband and I reserved a u-haul from this location over a month in advance to our cross-country journey. We also called an hour ahead to showing up on the day of, and yet it took over two and a half hours to get us our uhaul from the time we first arrived to the store. This was very frustrating because we had already made all of the necessary preparations to pick up our uhaul. We were also on a time crunch, seeing that we had three days of traveling ahead of us, and the uhaul company alots five days for the total use. None of the store employees that helped us seemed to know what they were doing. They printed out a sheet showing how much gas was in the tank. The sheet showed 5/8 of a tank (40 gallons) but when we got our uhaul, it had 17 miles left until empty. Another frustrating mess. Then, when we returned our uhaul, we find out that they had entered the wrong type of trailer into the system instead of our auto transport. This made it very difficult to return our uhaul & auto transport to the company in North Carolina.

Please, PLEASE, if you are looking for a uhaul, rent it from a different location, and save yourself all of the trouble that we have just been through. I knew this location was new to carrying the uhauls, but I thought they would be a little bit better equipped to handling everything in a more efficient manner. Do not go to True Value Home Center...

My experience has always been good. Friendly helpful people. If they did not know an answer they found someone who did. Now the store has changed over to True Value and it is impressive how clean and neat and organized everything is. Additionally they carry high class products. I am thankful they are here in the Village. If not for them I would have to drive 20+ miles to another store of similar products. The management is to be commended. ...

Bought 5 gallons of paint from the true value home center to paint a townhouse interior. The paint didn't match when it dried. Had a buddy helping me with the project. His time totally wasted because of the stores mistake and they only want to replace 3 of the gallons even though the whole unit has to be completely repainted. Not satisfied.
