Sutherlands — Local services in Hot Springs

I recently moved to this part of town and your location is closer than Lowe’s

I had two great experiences working with Rodney and today a young man who name alludes me but he was a young cat who loves basketball and baseball and music

I was looking for bird feeding equipment to set up in my new house and he was extremely helpful.

We probably talked for another 10 minutes as he carried the purchase to my vehicle without me even asking

You guys got a couple of keepers

I gave 5 stars because of Rodney and Parker is the other gentleman’s name and today Zephaniah who helped me today

But Victoria and the manager on duty tonight

No Stars

I walked in with a piece of wood that I needed 2 inches cut off that I made a mistake at Lowe’s when I gave the measurements

I go to Lowe’s because Sutherland’s charges $1.00 per cut even if you purchased it from them

Right away she turns to the manager and in the most rude tone, body language and facial expression

Do we cut wood that not ours ?

I am thinking to myself how does she know I did not purchase this here?

I told her yes you do you cut wood $1.00 a cut

And the manager replied “ I guess”

I am thinking to myself how does he know I did not purchase this here?

I pay her and get the wood cut

As I am walking out ……she has the perfect opportunity to say Thank you and have a nice day or Screw you and I hope you get hit by a bus

But she chose to say nothing

That is why I am choosing to not even give Sutherland’s an opportunity to even bid on the new fence job that I am buying from Lowe’s

I won’t say I will never shop Sutherland’s again but I will say Sutherland will definitely be the last place I pick when I need...

Came here to find two items I needed . I walked around the store which was not busy . I was there for over an hour searching for the items I needed and no one stop to ask if I needed any help despite several employees AND the manager walking by me as if I’m a ghost . I was clearly looking for a product but they didn’t have the common curtesy to stop and be of assistance. This is why Amazon is making money hand over fist . I try to support my locals stores however when you can’t find help and you are totally ignored it’s not worth the drive into the store . The manager seemed more concerned about moving displays than helping customers in the store . Also , the aisles had several boxes and miscellaneous equipment scattered on the floor which I tripped over . Big hazards in the aisles. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen . Bottom line, this location has horrible customer service. I will take my money to Amazon and just wait a couple days for the items I need . Much less stress and hassle. This manager needs a refresher course on customer service. Hopefully he will get additional training on how to treat and...

Great prices and it's very easy to find everything. I found out from a cashier that the company stalks the online prices and they aggressively price their products to beat them! I have yet to find anything online that was cheaper than Sutherlands!! It's true that they're thinly staffed but do you really need a babysitter when you shop? I'm an adult, I can find what I need. If I can't, I'm also an adult who can go find somebody to help me and wait for them to have time to help me. Whatever they're doing, it's working because prices can't be beat. Today, I bought a space heater for $40- it was $59-70 on Amazon. Oh, and this is the view I saw walking out the store. Beautiful. UPDATE: I still shop here after a couple of years and folks are very nice. They're very helpful when I ask for help. One of the biggest and best times here is when they bring in the plants. Great sales and a large variety of unique plants. I now have an olive tree and it's still doing well! My Camellias are also doing very well and I got a great price.
